Sheff Utd vs Swansea Prediction: 40/1 shout for another Blades clean sheet

Sheffield United are sat in the top-six of the Championship right now after a very solid start to the season. Next up on Wednesday night for the Blades is a home game against Swansea (19:45, Sky Sports+), and it's one that they are probably expected to win at this point in time.
However, the Swans are unbeaten in their last three games and are in the top-10, so Chris Wilder’s men may not have it all their own way. Below you can find my Sheff Utd vs Swansea predictions, featuring team news and betting tips.
Sheff Utd vs Swansea Betting Tips
Team News
Oli Arblaster remains out for the hosts with an injury, and although Jack Robinson and Tom Davies are both on their way back, this game is likely to come too soon. Michael Cooper has conceded just one goal since arriving from Plymouth Argyle, and he will start behind an unchanged back four of Alfie Gilchrist, Harry Souttar, Anel Ahmedhodzic and Harrison Burrows. Sydie Peck is likely to play again in place of Arblaster with changes in attack a posibility if Wilder wants to freshen things up.
Meanwhile Swansea City were in action on Sunday so Luke Williams may chose to rotate, with Jay Fulton, Josh Key and Joe Allen all in the running to start. Chelsea loanee Myles Peart-Harris may also get more gametime, but Ben Cabango and Harry Darling should continue their run of starts at the heart of the defence.
Sheff Utd are priced at 4/5 to win this game, with Swansea available at 7/2. A draw can be backed at 11/4, over 2.5 goals is 4/5 and BTTS is 8/11.
Sheff Utd win to nil @ 2/1
Sheffield United’s defence is slowly becoming the eighth wonder of the world. Their back four are now settled, and they have signed a gem of a goalkeeper in Cooper. They haven’t conceded a single goal in any of their last four outings, picking up 10 points from a possible 12 during this run.
A solid defence can lead a team to promotion and Sheff Utd certainly look like they are well on their way. They don’t tend to score loads of goals, but given they kept five clean sheets out of seven and have only conceded three this term, backing them to win to nil again feels like the sensible option.

Gus Hamer to score and Sheff Utd to win 1-0 @ 40/1
Let’s push the boat out with a long-shot. I’ve already explained how Sheff Utd don’t concede goals, but they don’t tend to score a huge amount either. Their last four results read 1-0, 2-0, 1-0, 0-0. Can you see the same pattern I can? Wilder has a tough backline and they seem to be really enjoying playing together and defending right now.
I’m confident enough backing them to keep another clean sheet, and I think that a 1-0 scorelline is also the most likely. If we are picking out a goalscorer with that score, then Gus Hamer makes the most sense in my eyes. It’s quite simplistic to say he is their best player, but that is the truth. He’s also probably the best player in the Championship and has been let off his leash by Wilder this season in a more attacking role, which has resulted in four goals already.
Their last home game ended in a 1-0 win over Derby with Hamer scoring a magnificent free-kick, so let’s back history to repeat itself against Swansea with this 40/1 shout.
