Sheffield United Bramall Lane

Sheffield United entertain Brentford at Bramall Lane in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon (15:00) in Chris Wilder's second home game back in charge of the Blades.

There were signs of improvement in their 2-0 defeat to Liverpool in midweek and they will sense an opportunity to get more points on the board against the Bees this weekend.

Here are a couple of the best markets on offer for this top-flight clash.

Sheff Utd vs Brentford Betting Tips

  • Over 2.5 goals - 8/11
  • Sheffield United or draw - 11/10

Match Odds

Sheffield United are valued at 7/2 to pick up their first win under Wilder. A draw is on offer at 11/4, while Brentford are priced at 8/11.

Both teams to score in this one can be backed at 8/11. Over 2.5 goals offers the same value.

Team News

The hosts are going to be without Chris Basham, John Egan and Tom Davies for the weekend. Daniel Jebbison, Rhian Brewster and Rhys Norrington-Davies are doubtful to feature.

Kevin Schade, Aaron Hickey, Rico Henry and Ivan Toney are unavailable for Brentford. After hobbling off injured against Brighton & Hove Albion in midweek, Bryan Mbeumo is a doubt to make the squad.

Over 2.5 goals @ 8/11

There were some positive signs in the Blades' midweek loss to Liverpool and this will give them a lift as they take on Brentford at Bramall Lane. The Bees fell to a 2-1 defeat at Brighton on Wednesday and they will look for a response against the side at the bottom of the table.

Both these teams have been defensively suspect this season which could tee us up to witness a few goals this weekend. Wilder will want to get the first win under his belt sooner rather than later and he will demand to see a positive goalscoring performance against the Bees.

Over 2.5 goals has landed in 11 of Sheffield United's 15 Premier League fixtures this term, and in 10 of Brentford's 15 matches.

Sheffield United or draw (Double chance) @ 11/10

Wilder is back in charge of the Blades for the second time in his career, and he is a cult figure at the club for carrying them from League One to the Premier League in his first spell. The Blades during the early years of his previous tenure were so impressive for their organisation and being clinical on the break.

He will look to implement this back into the Blades' style of play, which will give them a much better chance of picking up points than they are right now (five from 15 games). Brentford haven't been quite as exciting as they have in recent seasons and it is likely down to some key personnel missing.

Sheffield United will have an opportunity to get some more points on the board this weekend and there might just be some value in backing their double chance market this weekend.
