Sevilla vs Atletico Madrid Prediction: Simeone’s men need a response

Sevilla welcome Atletico Madrid to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in La Liga on Sunday evening (17:30), looking to give themselves more breathing room from the relegation zone. They are currently three points above safety.

Atletico Madrid were surprisingly beaten in their home leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final against Athletic Bilbao. However, they are unbeaten in their last four in the league and they will be eager to apply more pressure on Barcelona in third, who are currently two points ahead of them.

Sevilla have quite a big injury list with Lucien Agoume, Kike Salas, Dodi Lukebakio, Tanguy Nianzou and Nemanja Gudelj all sidelined. Erik Lamela and Mariano Diaz are also doubts to feature.

The hosts will be boosted by the returns of Suso and Sergio Ramos from one-game suspensions.

Atletico Madrid are going to be without trio Cesar Azpilicueta, Thomas Lemar and Jose Gimenez on Sunday, while Alvaro Morata is also a doubt.

Despite being stunned in midweek, you cannot ignore Atletico Madrid's form in La Liga. Four games unbeaten, which included three wins in a row sets them up nicely to face a struggling Sevilla side on Sunday.

With the quality they have at their disposal in Antoine Griezmann, Memphis Depay and Morata should he feature, this should be a routine victory for Diego Simeone's men on paper.

However, with Sevilla being at home, we do fancy them to cause the visitors some problems and make them have to work for the three points. So we do think they will also get on the scoresheet here.

Memphis Depay to score anytime @ 13/8

If Morata is unable to play a part on Sunday, it will likely be Depay playing up top alongside Griezmann, and the Dutchman has been in decent form in recent weeks.

He has scored three in his last five outings in all competitions, so he will be full of confidence heading into this clash. Depay is improving his consistency which right now is what his team needs.

His tally for the campaign in all competitions stands at seven. Four of them have come in the league and for a player of his quality, he knows that he can score more and should be at least hitting double figures.

With more time out on the pitch, it will only help his confidence further and thus give him more chances to score, and we fancy him to grab one this weekend.
