Seattle Sounders vs PSG Prediction: Parisians to sail to victory

Paris Saint-Germain will conclude their Fifa Club World Cup Group B run on Monday night (20:00, live on DAZN) when they face MLS outfit Seattle Sounders.

After a surprise defeat to Botafogo on matchday two, the European champions will almost certainly require maximum points here to ensure they avoid an early exit, while the Sounders are staring down the barrel of elimination and could also do with a victory. Seattle's only notable injury coming into this contest is Kalani Kossa-Rienzi, who was withdrawn 11 minutes from time in the Sounders' tie with Atletico Madrid.

Paul Arriola is the MLS side's only other major concern, otherwise Brian Schmetzer looks set to deploy a starting XI similar to the one we saw against Atleti.

That means Stefan Frei will start between the sticks and he'll be protected by the centre-back pairing of Jackson Ragen and Jon Bell. Obed Vargas, Cristian Roldan and Albert Rusnak will occupy the engine room, supporting Danny Musovski in attack.

As for PSG, Ousmane Dembele remains absent battling a thigh injury, but that apart, Luis Enrique has his full squad at his disposal.

First-team regulars such as Nuno Mendes, Marquinhos, Joao Neves and Fabian Ruiz are expected to return to the starting XI after being demoted to the substitutes' bench against Botafogo, while Desire Doue, Goncalo Ramos and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia will start in attack.

The MLS side are 12/1 to claim a vital three points, while PSG are 1/6 to taste victory, giving them an implied win probability of 85.7%.

The draw can be backed at 15/2 and Ramos is favourite to open the scoring at 7/2.

PSG to win and over 3.5 goals @ 21/20

I don't think anybody saw PSG's 1-0 defeat to Botafogo coming on matchday two, and the Parisians will be desperate to get back into the win column here.

However, it should be noted that Enrique's side dominated possession against the Brazilians, recording 16 shots to their opponents' four. It was clearly a bad day at the office for the European champions, as they've scored three or more goals in five of their last six fixtures, so I think there'll be plenty of goals on display on Monday night.

PSG need a victory to guarantee a route to the knockout stages, and given the gulf in quality between the sides, should coast to victory here. Seattle have lost their last four, and conceded 11 strikes during that time.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to score first @ 4/1

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has looked like PSG’s main outlet in attack in the absence of Ousmane Dembele throughout the Club World Cup.

The former Napoli man has had eight shots so far, which is the most for any PSG player - three against Atletico Madrid and five against Botafogo.

The 24-year-old is still searching for his first goal of the competition, and with Seattle shipping five goals in just two games at the tournament so far, I think he's a decent pick to break the deadlock on Monday night.
