Motherwell to beat Hibs
We begin our away win treble in the capital by supporting an in-form Motherwell to beat an out-of-sorts Hibs at Easter Road. The Steelmen arrive in Edinburgh in fourth place and could move above Rangers into third with the right result.
The Steelmen failed to win their opening two games this season but have taken three of their last four, collecting nine points from a possible dozen. Confidence is sky-high in the team, and that will give them the edge over an under-fire opponent.
Hibs start the weekend down in ninth with their form showing one win, two draws, and three defeats with five goals scored and nine conceded.
They lost 1-0 at Ibrox last time out, finishing with just 33% of the ball possession in Govan. Happier times are ahead for Hibs, but they’re worth opposing until they offer something better and can put a run of wins together.
Dundee Utd to beat St Mirren
Moving to Paisley, we add Dundee United to beat St Mirren in leg two of our treble. The Tangerines are currently in fifth place with nine points on the board thanks to two wins, three draws, and a defeat.
The visitors are without victory in their previous two outings at this level, but look capable of better here. They pushed Rangers hard at Tannadice when losing 1-0 and battled for a 3-3 draw at Rugby Park last Saturday.
Dundee United must improve defensively, but they look capable of beating a St Mirren side with one win in their previous six league games.
The hosts have already conceded 13 goals, and that’s a worse defence than four of the six teams beneath them in the pecking order. The Saints have conceded two goals in each of their last three games, including a 2-1 loss at Motherwell last weekend.
Livingston to beat Partick
We wrap things up with one pick in the Scottish Championship, backing Livingston to defeat Partick Thistle in Glasgow. The Lions start in third place behind early leaders Ayr United and Falkirk, but there’s still plenty of football ahead, and we fancy Livingston for a quick-fire return to the Premiership.
The visitors offer stats of four wins and two draws, making them one of only two unbeaten teams in the division. They have won each of their last three and appear to be improving with every game.
Partick Thistle are sixth in the Championship after two wins, two draws, and three defeats, scoring six goals and conceding five. Thistle lost 1-0 away to Hamilton last time out, meaning they won just one of four games last month, with the spare a 1-0 win over second-bottom Dunfermline Athletic.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
