Premiership action returns following a break in play for last weekend’s Scottish Cup fixtures. On Saturday, there are five games from the top flight, supported by some interesting fixtures from the Championship.

Betfred’s Scottish football writer Frank Monkhouse selects his four best bets from the 3:00 pm starts, including a play on the champions and a side coming in on the back of a huge cup win to make up his Saturday Football Accumulator Tips...

Saturday Football Accumulator Tips:

  • Celtic beat Kilmarnock @ 2/11
  • Hearts beat Motherwell @ 4/6
  • St Mirren beat Livingston @ 6/5
  • Morton beat Queens Park @ 13/10

Celtic beat Kilmarnock @ 2/11

We open our Saturday four-fold with a bet on the champions to make home advantage count against a plucky Kilmarnock. Celtic find themselves involved in a title race following a Rangers revival, and that should spark the locals to life following a few below-par performances.

Kilmarnock is playing well and has moved into the top four, but they’ve won just one of their last five, drawing three and losing the other. If Celtic are at their best, they’ll win this game with a bit to spare.

Hearts beat Motherwell @ 4/6

We’re off to the capital for the second home win on our weekend fourfold. The Jambos start third in the list and are likely to finish as best of the rest behind the Old Firm. They have the joint-best form in the league over the last five rounds, level with Rangers on a maximum of 15 points.

Motherwell is also on an unbeaten run but have drawn four of their last five. Home advantage and confidence will make the difference here, and we’re backing Hearts to delight their fans with another three points.

St Mirren beat Livingston @ 6/5

Let’s move to an intriguing away win double from the two main teams in Renfrewshire, starting with Premiership outfit St Mirren. The Buddies are fifth in the Premiership following back-to-back wins and look likely to secure a top-six finish this season, which would be a real achievement from the Paisley club.

We’re backing them to beat bottom side Livingston, who has won just twice all season and looks likely to be playing Championship football next term, barring a stunning fightback. The visitors look good value to heap misery on their hosts, who have lost four of their last five and are already 11 points off safety.

Morton beat Queens Park @ 13/10

We wrap up our weekend accumulator by dropping into the Championship and backing Greenock Morton. Dougie Imrie’s team made headlines last Friday when beating Premiership regulars Motherwell at Cappielow in the Scottish Cup, a game that was broadcast live on television to a bumper audience. Morton reminded us of the magic of the Scottish Cup, and we expect them to get back to business in the Championship.

The visitors arrive on the back of four wins and a draw in their last five, while hosts Queens Park have also been performing well but did lose at home to Ayr United late last month. If both teams are at their best, Morton should secure a hard-fought win.
