Barcelona only need to avoid defeat to finish top of Group H in the Champions League but the Blaugrana will want to leave nothing to chance as they prepare to face Royal Antwerp on Wednesday night.

Barca have looked more like their former selves after some tough seasons in the Champions League of late.

Having thrashed Antwerp 5-0 in their previous meeting in Catalonia, it’s hard to see Barca not earning the three points to guarantee top spot in their group ahead of a return to the knockout stages of Europe’s elite competition.

Royal Antwerp vs Barcelona Prediction

  • Barcelona and both teams to score (No) @ 9/5
  • Joao Felix anytime goalscorer @ 13/8

Team news

After being sent off against Shakhtar Donetsk in their last Champions League outing, Antwerp will have to do without attacker Arbnor Muja.

Muja joins midfielder Jurgen Ekkelenhamp, who will also miss Wednesday’s encounter due to a red card he picked up on Matchday Four.

Manager Mark Van Bommel also has injury dilemmas to deal with, with the likes of Anthony Valencia (fracture), Jacob Ondrejka (fracture), Bjord Engels (Achilles) and Jelle Bataille (ankle) all sidelined.

As for Barca, the La Liga champions have four injuries to deal with, as Gavi (knee), Inigo Martinez (hamstring), Marc-Andre ter Stegen (back) and Marcos Alonso (back) are all unavailable for manager Xavi.

Match odds

As expected, Barca are the 1/2 favourites ahead of their trip to Belgium, while the hosts Antwerp are 9/2 to cause an upset against the Blaugrana. A draw on the night is available at 3/1.

In a game that could have plenty of goals, 3.5 total goals on the night is at 11/8, while over 4.5 total is available at 10/3.

Barcelona and both teams to score (No) @ 9/5

There was a gulf between these sides last time out in Barcelona and it’s hard to see where Antwerp have narrowed the gap since that heavy defeat back in September.

Even with the four players Barca have out injured, Xavi has enough quality at his disposal to claim the win that would finish the Blaugrana’s group stage on a high.

Rock bottom of the group and not even with a Europa League spot in their grasp, Antwerp have nothing but pride to play for in this final game of their first season in the Champions League.

Antwerp have only scored three goals in the Champions League this season and have failed to hit the back of the net in their last two European outings.

A Barca win to nil looks to be the way to go here.

Joao Felix anytime goalscorer @ 13/8

Scoring a brace in that 5-0 win over Antwerp in Catalonia, Joao Felix looks more than capable of adding to his goal collection against the Belgian outfit on Wednesday.

Expect the 24-year-old to find pockets of space in and around the Antwerp box and the Portugal international can add to his Champions League tally at Bosuilstadion.
