Ross County vs Livingston Prediction: Can County pull it off again?

After a 1-1 draw at the Almondvale Stadium in the first leg, it’s all to play for between Ross County and Livingston as they head to Dingwall. With the scores level, the winner will take it all on the night, with the hosts currently clinging onto their Scottish Premiership status by their fingertips.
This one kicks off at 20:00 on Monday night (Sky Sports Football), and below you can find my Ross County vs Livingston predictions.

Team News
Given how both teams performed, I’m not sure we will see too many changes heading into the second leg. Don Cowie watched on as Ronan Hale converted a very late penalty to rescue a draw, and he will start up front again alongside either Alex Samuel or Jordan White. White come on after an hour last time out and could provide the firepower needed to keep them in the top flight.
The midfield trio of Joshua Nisbet, Connor Randall and Nohan Kenneh will all keep their places, while Jordan Amissah will target a clean sheet in goal behind the same back three.
Ross County vs Livingston Stats
- The first leg ended 1-1 in Livingston
- Ross County have drawn their last three games
For Livingston, they will look to bounce back from that late penalty concession. Again, David Martindale is unlikely to switch things up too much as they came so close to securing a win in the first leg. If he goes unchanged, Lewis Smith, Robbie Muirhead and Cristian Montano will provide the attacking thrust as the front three.
Centre-back Danny Wilson found the goal in the first leg and he will be partnered by Ryan McGowan as part of an unchanged back four. Stevie May and Tete Yengi may be called upon to find a goal off the bench if needed.
Ross County vs Livingston Odds
Ross County are the favourites to get the job done, priced at 6/4 to win the game in 90 minutes. That gives them an implied win percentage of 40%, but it’s a close-run thing, as Livingston are just 7/4 to take the win in 90. A draw can be backed at 21/10 if you fancy extra time on Monday.
Over 2.5 goals is 1/1, and BTTS is 8/11, while both teams are 5/6 to win the tie.
Ross County to win the tie @ 5/6
Ross County manager Cowie helped the club win the relegation play-off last term, and if they win this year that will makes it three times in a row that they have won this high-pressure fixture. Having got out of Livingston with the scores level, I’m now happy to lean on the side of the Scottish Premiership side, despite all of their struggles this season.
County haven’t won a game since March 1, and I’m not sure they will win here in 90 minutes, but I think their experience in these ties will pay off in the end. Livingston have had a cracking season, but despite their quality I’m not sure they can win this tough away test to secure promotion.

Under 2.5 goals @ 8/11
We’ve all seen these types of games before. When the pressure is on, teams tend to go back to basics, and we didn’t see a whole lot of free-flowing football in the first leg. I can see both teams prioritising their defensive structure, in a bid not to lose the game with a silly mistake.
Ross County have struggled defensively all year, but I think we saw enough from both defences to suggest this second leg is going to be a battle. I think there’s decent value in backing under 2.5 goals in 90 minutes in this second leg, with a 0-0 draw a real possibility.
