Roma will be aiming to make it two wins from two in Europa League Group G on Thursday evening when they welcome Servette to the Stadio Olimpico for a 20:00 kick-off.

It has been an inconsistent start to the season for the Giallorossi, who find themselves down in 13th position in Serie A, but European football has proven to be a welcome break for them once again and they should have more than enough to get the better of visitors Servette.

Roma kicked off their Europa League campaign with a hard-fought 2-1 success at Sheriff, while Servette suffered a 2-0 home defeat to Slavia Prague.

Roma vs Servette Prediction

  • Over 3.5 total goals @ 5/4
  • Bryan Cristante to score anytime @ 2/1

Team news

Roma are without the defensive trio of Chris Smalling, Diego Llorente and Marash Kumbulla, while midfielder Renato Sanches is also unavailable and striker Tammy Abraham remains sidelined after tearing his ACL in pre-season.

Servette have a cleaner bill of health compared to their Italian opponents, with Alexander Lyng and Theo Magnin the only two missing due to injury.

Over 3.5 total goals @ 5/4

Priced at 1/7 to win and 4/6 to triumph to nil, Roma are the firm favourites to claim the spoils on home soil and move on to six points following their matchday one victory over Sheriff.

Given the little value in those two markets, it may prove more prudent to delve into the goals market and the 5/4 available on over 3.5 in the contest is tempting.

It has been a mixed bag from Jose Mourinho’s side this season with a 7-0 thumping of Empoli followed a few weeks later by a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Genoa, thus highlighting the inconsistencies.

One thing those two results have in common is goals and that Empoli thrashing is one of two home matches for the Giallorossi that has produced over 3.5 goals, the other being a 2-2 draw with Salernitana.

Servette have also been involved in some high-scoring affairs on the road this season, beating Meyrin 8-0 and Bulle 4-1 either side of a 4-1 defeat to Yverdon Sport, and another action-packed affair could be on the cards.

Bryan Cristante to score anytime @ 2/1

There are several scoring options to choose from for this encounter, but the 2/1 available on Bryan Cristante to net anytime stands out and he gets the nod for the second and final tip.

The Italy international has had the most attempts (13) for Roma in Serie A this season and there is no shortage of desire from the defensive midfielder to get forward.

Cristante has netted twice in the league, leaving him just one behind Romelu Lukaku in his club’s scoring charts, and he will be eager to add to his tally against a vulnerable Servette.
