Roma have won both games since Jose Mourinho’s departure, which has helped to push them back into the Champions League mix. Can their upturn in form continue in Monday night’s Serie A clash with Cagliari?

Roma remain without Leonardo Spinazzola, Tammy Abraham and Chris Smalling for this clash. Sardar Azmoun and Evan Ndicka are both away on international duty and miss Monday’s game.

Cagliari are hoping to hand a debut to former Everton man Yerry Mina. The visitors are expected to name an attack-minded side, with Gianluca Lapadula expected to partner Andrea Petagna in a 4-3-1-2 system.

Roma are 4/9 to win, the draw is 7/2 and Cagliari are priced up at 13/2.

Roma to win and both teams to score @ 23/10

Roma icon Daniele De Rossi has two wins from two since stepping in as manager and that run is taken to continue against Cagliari on Monday. The visitors have not won any of their last 16 Serie A away games, losing 11 of those matches. They have the joint-worst away record of any side in Italy’s top flight, which bodes well for Roma.

The visitors have visited seven of Italy’s top 10 and they’ve lost six of those contests. Meanwhile, Roma have won seven of eight home games outside of clashes with the top seven.

However, De Rossi’s side have conceded in both of his games in charge so far. Roma are now without a clean sheet in seven, while Cagliari have seen both teams score in each of their last five. While the visitors are poor on the road, they can grab a goal in a defeat in the capital.

Roma have won by a single goal in three of the last five meetings between these two and a repeat is on the cards this week. The hosts have won 2-1 in both of their matches under De Rossi, while a friendly clash with Al Shabab in between also saw them win by that scoreline.

Roma have already picked up four 2-1 wins in Serie A this term and they’re 7/1 to make it five on Monday.

Lorenzo Pellegrini to score anytime @ 2/1

One man who is benefitting from the change in manager is Lorenzo Pellegrini, who has scored in both games under De Rossi. That doubled his goal tally to four for the season, matching his total for the entire 2022/23 campaign under Mourinho.

Underlying numbers point to Pellegrini getting into more advanced positions under De Rossi and that can continue on Monday.

The midfielder was able to score and also provide an assist when he last faced Cagliari and with his confidence improved under the new manager, he’s a great anytime goalscorer option for Monday night.

Lorenzo Pellegrini to score anytime at 2-1
