Red Star Belgrade and Young Boys face off in the Champions League on Wednesday night, with both clubs desperate to pick up their first points of the campaign.

Red Star suffered a 3-1 defeat at reigning champions Manchester City in their opening game of the group, while Young Boys also go into this clash on the back of a 3-1 loss to RB Leipzig.

The hosts are the 23/20 favourites to win on Wednesday night, while Young Boys are 9/4 to claim the three points. A draw on the night in Belgrade is available at 5/2.

Red Star vs Young Boys Betting Tips:

  • Red Star to win @ 23/20
  • Over 2.5 total goals @ 4/6

Team news:

Red Star winger Aleksandar Katai has been out with a back injury, but returned as an unused substitute at the weekend.

With a few more days of recovery under his belt, Katai is expected to be pushing for a starting role on Wednesday night against Young Boys.

Osman Bukari scored against City from a centre-forward role, but he looks likely to return to his more familiar position on the right flank, with Jean-Philippe Krasso and Cherif Ndiaye set to lead the line.

Krasso has been a standout performer for Red Star so far this season, scoring six goals in his first eight games of the Super Liga campaign.

As for the visitors from Switzerland, winger Kastriot Imeri continues to be sidelined for Young Boys with a knee injury, while a muscle problem means defender Loris Benito misses the trip to Serbia.

Head coach Raphael Wicky opted for a 5-3-2 formation against Leipzig in their last Champions League outing and might be tempted to revert to a more familiar 4-4-2 diamond setup this week.

Red Star to win @ 23/20

While Red Star have been slightly inconsistent of late, their home form has been extremely impressive this season.

They have played five games at Stadion Rajko Mitic and have won all of them, with an aggregate scoreline of 15-1.

Young Boys are without a win in any of their last four away games in the Champions League and this will be another stern test for the Swiss outfit in Belgrade.

There’s little to choose from between these sides, but home advantage will be key here and it might well be best to side with a Red Star victory at 23/20.

Over 2.5 total goals @ 4/6

While Red Star should claim the three points on home soil, this might well be a game with plenty of goals.

As mentioned, the hosts have scored 15 goals in five outings at home this season and it would be little surprise to see another high-scoring affair on Wednesday night.

Over 2.5 total goals at Stadion Rajko Mitic would come as little surprise and is available at 4/6.
