Red star belgrade vs psv predictions betting tips uefa champions league tuesday january 21 2025

Red Star Belgrade host PSV Eindhoven at the Stadion Rajko Mitic in Belgrade on Tuesday (20:00, TNT Sports 6) with both clubs still in contention to progress to the knockout rounds of the Uefa Champions League, although the Serbian side are hanging on by the skin of their teeth and need to win in midweek and hope other results go their way to take things until the final matchday next week.

Below is my Red Star Belgrade vs PSV prediction, complete with all the latest team news and match odds, ahead of this league phase contest in the Serbian capital.

Red Star Belgrade vs PSV Betting Tips

  • Total Goals - Over 3.5 @ 6/5
  • Anytime Goalscorer - Silas Katompa Mvumpa (CZV) @ 3/1

Team News

Red Star Belgrade are still missing Nigerian midfielder Peter Olayinka (Achilles) who has been out injured since playing the duration of their third league phase match at AS Monaco (5-1) on October 22.

Brazilian forward Bruno Duarte, who has featured five times in the league phase, has been absent from all of Red Star's winter friendlies, so it remains to be seen if he has recovered in time for Tuesday.

Goalkeeper Omri Glazer is back in training following an adductor injury and will expect to line up between the sticks in Belgrade.

Football Odds

PSV midfielder Malik Tillman, who is suspended for Tuesday's trip to Serbia, will be sidelined for the foreseeable future with a serious ankle injury, according to the club.

Like Tillman, Belgian left-back Matteo Dams is serving a one-game ban for an accumulation of yellow cards, and the duo will be watching on alongside injured trio Sergino Dest (knee), Adamo Nagalo (shoulder) and Couhaib Driouech (ankle).

Red Star Belgrade vs PSV Odds

Red Star have lost five of their first six league phase matches and are 100/30 underdogs on Tuesday, giving Vladan Milojevic's side an implied win probability of 23.1%, while PSV, who have lost three successive away games and have taken just a point from three on their travels in Europe, are 8/11, or a 57.9% chance, to claim victory in Belgrade.

The draw, meanwhile, is priced at 3/1, and both teams to score at 1/2.

PSV's Luuk de Jong (21/20), Ricardo Pepi (23/20) and Noa Lang (21/10) lead the way in the anytime goalscorer market, with Red Star's Aleksandar Katai (11/5) next up in line.

Total Goals - Over 3.5 @ 6/5

Red Star haven't contributed a whole lot of quality to the Champions League this season but their matches have certainly been among the most entertaining with only Feyenoord matching their 4.8 goals per game (for and against) tally. Zvezda have scored 10 times but have conceded 19 goals with only the bottom two, Young Boys (22) and Slovan Bratislava (21), shipping more.

Four of Red Star's six games in the competition have seen four or more goals scored while there haven't been fewer than six in their last two at home as they followed up a 5-2 hammering at the hands of Barcelona on November 6 with a 5-1 thrashing of Stuttgart 21 days later.

PSV's contests haven't been quite as eventful as their record of 10 scored and eight conceded means they are averaging three goals per game but half (three) have seen over 3.5 total goals land.

Peter Bosz's side are 23rd in the 36-team table heading into Tuesday's clash but their prospects of making the play-offs would be hugely dented by a failure to beat Red Star, particularly with league phase leaders Liverpool to come in their final game next Wednesday, so the Dutch giants should be going all out for the win in Belgrade.

The home side have little to lose and a win is the only result that keeps them in the reckoning for a top-24 spot, so we should see both teams going at it on Tuesday and that should mean a few goals. At 6/5, it could be worth taking on 3.5 total goals here.

Anytime Goalscorer - Silas Katompa Mvumpa (CZV) @ 3/1

Silas Katompa Mvumpa burst onto the Bundesliga scene in the 2020/21 season, scoring 11 goals in 25 top-flight appearances, but following some personal issues that contributed to him playing just nine times the following campaign, he failed to hit those heights again in Germany and was sent on loan to Red Star in September.

The 26-year-old has found his feet again in Serbia, scoring four goals in eight SuperLiga appearances and netting twice in six Champions League games. His first for Red Star in Europe came against Barcelona and he followed up his strike against the Spanish giants with an effort against his parent club, Stuttgart, in the Serbian side's next league phase match, which also took place in Belgrade.

After bagging in back-to-back home games in Europe, Silas will be looking to make it three in a row at home on Tuesday when PSV pitch up in the capital. The visitors lost 1-0 last time out in the competition away to Brest and have kept just one clean sheet - at home to Girona (4-0) who were reduced to 10 men in the 55th minute in Eindhoven.

At 3/1, Silas - who is averaging 1.2 shots and 0.7 shots on target per game in the Champions League - is a nice price to back in front of goal on Tuesday.
