Real Valladolid vs Girona Prediction: Visitors to get at least a point

Real Valladolid may have relegation from La Liga already confirmed but they still have games left to play. Tuesday (18:00, Premier Sports 1) sees them welcome strugglers Girona to Jose Zorilla. The hosts are without a win in their previous 16 outings in the top flight.

Mamadou Sylla is back in contention to feature for Real Valladolid, having served a suspension in the defeat at Mallorca on Saturday, and the forward is expected to go straight back into the starting lineup.

This could be the only change made for Tuesday as the hosts gave a decent showing of themselves in that defeat. Chuki was on the scoresheet from the right flank and he should come into this contest with some much-needed confidence.

Kenedy, Javi Sanchez and David Torres are all injury doubts but boss Alvaro Rubio escaped the trip to Mallorca with any fresh concerns.

Girona are likely to be without Miguel Gutierrez again due to an ankle issue, while the player is continuously linked with a return to Real Madrid in the summer. Gabriel Misehouy and Donny van de Beek are also doubts to feature.

Tottenham Hotspur loanee Bryan Gil and Ricard Artero are ruled out for the visitors.

To inject some pace into the attack, Michel may consider recalling Yaser Asprilla. Veteran Cristhian Stuani should be tasked to lead the line, having bagged nine goals in the league this term, while it is likely that Portu will aid him in the final third.

The visitors are 8/13 to come away with the three points, which they did manage in the reverse fixture at Montilivi, winning 3-0.

The home side's fate has been sealed and they know that they will be playing in the second tier next term. This is what Girona are still fighting to avoid as they are four points above the drop zone with three games left to play.

Leganes are currently 18th in the table and the Blanquivermells were held to a draw by them when they met at Municipal Butarque on April 24. It was not the best result for Girona as Leganes had been down to 10 men from the 19th minute.

I'm giving myself the insurance of a draw with this selection, but I'm adding both teams to score as this has been a successful bet in each of Valladolid's past five matches in the league.

He may be 38 years of age but Girona striker Stuani is still showing that he has much to give at this level, as he is the visitors' top scorer in La Liga this season with nine goals.

He has scored his side's past three goals in the top flight, which have come in his previous four appearances so he comes into Tuesday's clash with form and confidence.

With the experience that he has, he will be turned to by the younger heads in the team for inspiration as Girona bid to stay in La Liga. He should be excited to come up against the team with the worst defensive record (85 goals conceded) in the division, and I'm backing him to profit at Jose Zorilla.
