Real Betis vs Real Valladolid Prediction: Hosts to profit against struggling visitors

Real Betis got back to winning ways on Monday as they defeated Girona 3-1 away from home. Manuel Pellegrini's side have a quick turnaround for their next La Liga contest as they host another struggling side in Real Valladolid to Benito Villamarin on Thursday (20:30, Premier Sports 2).
The visitors head to Seville without a win in their last 13 matches in the top flight, and they are facing a team who have won seven of their previous nine, as they chase a place in next season's Champions League. Read on for my Real Betis vs Real Valladolid predictions, where you will also find the latest team news and match odds.

Team News
Betis are without the services of Marc Roca (ankle) and Diego Llorente (hamstring) due to season-ending injuries. Chimy Avila is another whose campaign could be over as the Argentine has been absent from the last three squads in all competitions. This followed him picking up a thigh issue in the build up to the league defeat to Villarreal.
Ricardo Rodriguez was nowhere to be seen on Monday as he was forced off in last Thursday's Uefa Conference league clash with Jagiellonia Bialystok. The Swiss full-back is also a doubt to feature on Thursday.
Romain Perraud filled in for the veteran at Girona and Manuel Pellegrini is likely to stick with him against Valladolid.
Los Verdiblancos playmaker Isco was on the scoresheet in the 3-1 victory earlier in the week, to equal Giovani Lo Celso's seven-goal tally in La Liga this term. He is expected to start here, alongside Antony, Abde Ezzalzouli and Cucho Hernandez leading the line.
Real Betis vs Real Valladolid Stats
- Real Betis have won seven of their last nine matches in La Liga
- BTTS has struck in the hosts' past five games in the top flight
Valladolid's only injury concern heading to Seville is goalkeeper Karl Hein, who has missed the past nine matches with a shoulder problem.
Following 13 matches without a win in La Liga, boss Alvaro Rubio appears to be running out of ideas as to how to turn the visitors' fortunes around. The Blanquivioletas are rooted to the bottom of the table with 16 points, which is exactly the amount they are away from safety.
Their relegation to the second tier looks inevitable but a great escape is still mathematically possible, if highly improbable.
Mamadou Sylla will be pushing for a recall up front after coming off the bench to score a penalty in the defeat against Osasuna on Sunday. Raul Moro should keep his place out on the left flank after scoring upon his return to the XI, but it does seem like most of the other positions in the team are vulnerable to being swapped.
Real Betis vs Real Valladolid Odds
Betis are the overwhelming favourites against Valladolid at 2/11. There is better value to be had in backing them to win and both teams to score, which has been a successful bet in five of the hosts' previous six victories in the top flight.
This is available at 9/5, which has an implied probability of 35.7%.
Two of the past five meetings between the two clubs have ended in a stalemate, and the draw is priced at 6/1.
Valladolid are 14/1 to get back to winning ways, with their last victory coming against the hosts on January 11.
Real Betis and over 3.5 goals @ 7/5
Betis' win on Monday moved them to within a point of Villarreal in fifth, but the Yellow Submarine do still have a game in hand on Pellegrini's men. So it does look like that recent defeat to Villarreal could be costly for Los Mejores come the end of term.
All Betis can do is focus on themselves and they delivered a fine performance at Girona to end a two-game winless streak, and this sets them up nicely for a home return to face the worst side in the division.
Valladolid's winless run has lasted for over three months and the players look devoid of any confidence as the confirmation of relegation creeps closer. They've lost six on the bounce heading into Thursday and it is difficult to see them stopping the rut at Betis.
The hosts have won six of their previous seven fixtures in La Liga and they know that they need to keep applying pressure on Villarreal in the race for the top five. They have plenty of quality within their ranks so I am confident they will beat the Pucela.
I've boosted the odds by adding over 3.5 goals, which struck at Girona on Monday, while this has also been a winning selection in each of the visitors' past three league defeats.

Both teams to score @ 11/10
I'm expecting Betis to prevail on home soil, but Valladolid can make them work for the three points as they have found the net in their last four road trips in the league.
BTTS has also landed in their previous two outings ahead of their trip to Seville, in which they scored twice.
Betis are on a run of five consecutive games in La Liga in which both teams have got on the scoresheet, while five of their previous seven victories in the league have featured BTTS.
