Queens Park Rangers welcome Plymouth Argyle to Loftus Road on Saturday (12:30, Sky Sports Football) for matchday three of the Championship. Both sides are searching for their first win of the season. They both lost their first matches before responding with draws last weekend. The two sides will be looking to go one step further this time around but it will be a tough fixture for both.

Read on for my QPR vs Plymouth prediction, including match odds and team news.

Team News

QPR are going to be without midfielder Jack Cork this weekend as last week's substitute picked up two yellow cards in the 2-2 draw with Sheffield United. Fellow substitute Lyndon Dykes had an impact, but a more positive one as he netted the equaliser in the 88th minute. He could come back into the starting XI here in place of Michael Frey.

The Rs have no fresh injury concerns heading into the weekend.

Plymouth boss Wayne Rooney will have been pleased by his side's response against Hull after his side were thumped 4-0 by Sheffield Wednesday the week before, and he will be hoping he can land his first league win as Argyle boss this weekend.

Ibrahim Cissoko netted his first goal for the club in last week's draw, which should give him plenty of confidence ahead of this trip to the capital. While there is still time for Morgan Whittaker to leave the club before the end of the transfer window, the star winger is still firmly in Rooney's plans, so he is likely to hold down his place on the right side of the attack.

Ryan Hardie was brought back into the starting XI last week and the striker looks to have done enough to hold down the position for this contest.

QPR and over 2.5 goals @ 6/4

Marti Cifuentes did an excellent job with QPR last season to keep them in the second tier. He will be a bit disappointed that he is still waiting on his first win in 2024/25, but he will be delighted with the character his players showed to come from two goals down to earn a draw at Bramall Lane.

This is why I think we could see them pick up their first win here. They're back at home, which is sure to make an advantage, and the last time Plymouth were away in the league, they were battered 4-0. QPR's side are much more gelled than their opponents, which is why I think they will know how to efficiently execute their game plan.

I have boosted the odds by including over 2.5 goals because it has been a winning selection in five of QPR's last six Championship matches.

Qpr and over 2. 5 goals at 6/4 Both teams to score @ 4/5

Both teams to score has landed in QPR's last three league matches, which is why I fancy this market for selection number two. Both teams also found the back of the net in Plymouth's last encounter with Hull City last weekend, so I think there's a good chance we will see goals at both ends in this encounter.

The two teams still look quite shaky defensively, with both sides having conceded five goals in their first two Championship matches this campaign - so I think BTTS is worth backing on Saturday.
