Qarabag lost their first game of the season on Friday when they made 11 changes to the side that beat Ferencvaros 3-1 in the first leg of this tie.

Manager Qurban Qurbanov clearly had Champions League qualification on his mind when making wholesale changes to his squad and the Azerbaijanis are expected to switch back and field a similar line-up to the side that won comprehensively in Hungary.

Ferencvaros have not played since the first leg and have no new injuries or suspensions to worry about. Robbie Keane’s side have an uphill battle ahead of them, but with a week to prepare for the clash should head into it up for the fight.

After coming out 3-1 winners in Hungary last week, Qarabag are clear favourites to progress and to do so with another win within 90 minutes in Baku on Wednesday. On paper the game was more even than the scoreline suggests, though, with Ferencvaros opening the scoring and having 12 shots to Qarabag’s 11 throughout the match.

However, Qarabag created the better of the opportunities and were more ruthless in front of goal, scoring from three of their four attempts on target.
