PSV Eindhoven will be looking to take their domestic form into Europe, as they bid to make it to the Champions League quarter-finals for the first time since 2007.

Standing in their way are German giants Borussia Dortmund, who not only managed to escape the 'group of death' but top it.

PSV vs Borussia Dortmund Prediction

  • Draw @ 13/5
  • Luuk de Jong to score anytime @ 5/4

Team News

Guus Til is out of action for the hosts, but Peter Bosz is expected to deploy a familiar lineup featuring the likes of Johan Bakayoko, Luuk de Jong and Joey Veerman who have been mainstays in the side this season.

As for Dortmund, Ramy Bensebaini, Karim Adeyemi and Felix Nmecha remain on the treatment table, and it is unclear whether Sebastian Haller will recover from a ankle injury in time for the trip Eindhoven.

Match Odds

PSV are 6/5 to claim a first-leg victory, the draw is 13/5 and a Dortmund win is priced up at 21/10.

Over 2.5 goals can be backed at 8/13, while both teams to score is 8/15.

Draw @ 13/5

PSV have been exceptional on their home patch for a while now, avoiding defeat in their last 30 home matches and winning 26 in that run, suggesting they should have enough to contain a side with far more European pedigree on Tuesday.

Dortmund will be tough opponents, though. They've become Champions League knockout-phase regulars over the past decade and managed to top the 'group of death' featuring Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan and Newcastle United. In fact, the visitors have avoided defeat in their last nine so I'm anticipating a closely-fought encounter on Tuesday night.

Given that three of PSV’s last five Champions League games have finished level, while three of Dortmund’s last five away matches have also been draws, backing another stalemate could be the way to go here.

Draw at 13-5 psv vs dortmund

Luuk de Jong to score anytime @ 5/4

Veteran striker Luuk de Jong has been a key contributor to PSV's success this season, and he's netted 26 times in 31 outings across all competitions this term.

The Dutch forward has managed to get on the scoresheet nine times in his last seven games, so 5/4 offers some decent odds-against value for the 33-year-old to score anytime on Tuesday.
