PSV have taken just two points from their first three games of the Champions League and given their domestic dominance they will want to make a bigger impact on the European stage.

Lens have picked up five points from their first three matches and are currently in second place in the group so will be looking to put themselves in the driving seat for qualification with a win.

PSV vs Lens Prediction

  • PSV to win and over 2.5 goals @ 7/5
  • Luuk De Jong to score at anytime @ 13/10

Team news

Ismael Saibari came off in PSV’s 6-0 win over Heracles on Saturday with a swollen eye socket but it is believed that he will have recovered in time for this clash.

Noa Lang, Mauro Junior, Armando Obispo and Armel Bella-Kotchap are all missing for the Dutch side however, who may well field an unchanged line-up to that which beat Heracles at the weekend.

Jimmy Cabot and Wuilker Farinez are missing for Lens with ACL injuries while Wesley Said and David Costa are both absent with thigh injuries.

Match Odds

PSV Eindhoven can be backed at 7/10  for the victory, while Lens are 18/5 outsiders and the draw is available at 3/1.

PSV to win and over 2.5 goals @ 7/5

PSV have been in dominant form in the Eredivisie, winning all 11 of their league games and scoring 41 goals, conceding just five in the process.

However they were beaten 4-0 by Arsenal and have drawn with Sevilla and PSV so they need to turn around their Champions League form if they are to qualify for the knockout stage.

The Dutch side gave as good as they got in the reverse fixture between these two, which finished 1-1 in France.

And they can’t help but have been boosted by their two results since then, beating Ajax 5-2 and getting the better of Heracles 6-0.

On home turf they should be able to get the better of a Lens side who have won just one of their seven away games this season.

Only two of PSV’s 18 matches in all competitions have gone under 2.5 goals so expect the hosts to come out on top in a high-scoring affair.

Luuk de Jong to score at anytime @ 13/10

Luuk de Jong has been PSV’s primary goal threat this season and that looks unlikely to change in this matchup.

The 33-year-old has ten goals in 14 matches in all competitions and is fancied to add to that tally in this clash.

Despite Ricardo Pepi’s solid performances off the bench, De Jong remains their top striker and can land on the scoresheet again here.
