PSG face Barcelona in the quarter-finals of the Champions League on Wednesday night (20:00, TNT Sports), with the hope of booking their place in the semi-finals for the first time since 2021. Meanwhile, Barcelona have been steadily improving under Xavi, but with the manager set to leave at the end of the season, this tie could be his final European one as Barca boss.

Below you can find my PSG vs Barcelona Bet Builder Tips, as we hunt for goals.

Draw

I’m finding it very hard to separate these two sides, which is why I’m happy to plump for a draw as my first selection. PSG are good at home, but they haven’t been perfect this season and a much-changed side drew 1-1 with Clermont Foot last time out.

With the Ligue 1 title wrapped up, Luis Enrique can afford to rest players for the Champions League, but we’ve seen it backfire before at this club.

They squeaked past Rennes at home in the French Cup, and in Ligue 1, they’ve now been held to draws in four of their last five home matches. Meanwhile Barcelona are now eight points behind Real Madrid in La Liga, but they have been in good form of late.

They are unbeaten in their last 11 games in all competitions, beat Atletico Madrid 3-0 away from home, and most importantly, drew their first-leg last-16 clash in Naples 1-1. I’m expecting a similar result here, one that would delight the Barca faithful.

Kylian Mbappe and Robert Lewandowski to score

This game could quite easily be packed full of goals, but even if it does only finish 1-1, I believe adding these two goalscoring demons to our bet makes perfect sense. If we think both teams will score, the statistics tell us it will probably be Mbappe and Lewandowski respectively.

The French superstar has scored 39 goals in 40 games in all competitions this season, with 30 of those coming in the league and Champions League. In those two competitions, no other PSG player has reached double figures, with Goncalo Ramos the next-best on eight. He is the main man, and if PSG score, it will be Mbappe.

The same can be said of Lewandowsi, albeit not to quite the same extent. He is Barca’s top scorer with 16 goals across the two main competitions, with Ferran Torres and Joao Felix his closest competition on 10 and 9 respectively. He will be there to take advantage of any PSG misfortune, and I’m happy to back the Polish striker to also find the net in the French capital.

Ronald Araújo to get booked

In an ideal world, I’d have tipped up Frenkie de Jong to get booked here, and if he is named in the starting XI for Barca, consider him our number one pick. However, the Dutchman is returning from an ankle injury, and may not be thrown straight back into Xavi’s starting XI, so we can’t afford to take a risk here.

Instead, I’ve picked out Ronald Araújo to get booked. Playing at centre-back the defender is susceptible to a card, having picked up seven yellows this season. My theory here is that, up against Mbappe, he will get caught out for pace at some point, and have to make a foul that leads to a booking from Anthony Taylor.
