A late winner over Millwall at the weekend has pulled Huddersfield out of the Championship relegation zone, although they are still just a point clear of the drop.

They visit Preston on Tuesday and the hosts are seven points back in the play-off race with a game in hand.

Here we pick out our predictions for Preston vs Huddersfield, kicking off at 19:45.

Preston vs Huddersfield Betting Tips

  • Preston to win @ 6/5
  • Will Keane to score at any time @ 15/8

Team news

Ched Evans, Ryan Ledson and Brad Potts are all longer-term absentees for Preston and are expected to miss out. Liam Millar could also be absent after sitting out the clash with Watford.

Alan Browne and Ben Whiteman are still injured, leaving North End short of options in midfield. However, the front three of Will Keane, Emil Riis Jakobsen and Milutin Osmajic is unlikely to change.

Radinio Balker, Yuta Nakayama, Josh Ruffels, Tom Lees, Jonathan Hogg and Jack Rudoni are all out for Huddersfield.

Andre Breitenreiter may opt to field an unchanged starting lineup to the one he deployed in the win over Millwall.

Match odds

Preston can be backed at 6/5 for the victory, while Huddersfield are 21/10 outsiders and the draw is available at 21/10.

Over 2.5 goals is on offer at 11/10, while both teams to score is priced at 5/6 and it is 9/4 for over 1.5 goals in the first half.

Preston to win @ 6/5

Preston have done their play-off hopes very few favours with a loss and a draw on the road to Birmingham and Watford respectively across their last two games.

Nevertheless, North End are much stronger on home turf and they can enjoy the return to Deepdale with a victory.

Ryan Lowe’s men have lost just one of their last seven at home, winning four of those, and they can get the better of poor-travellers Huddersfield.

The Terriers have won just one of their last 12 away games and despite their victory over Millwall on Saturday, they remain one of the poorer sides in the division.

Preston haven't conceded a goal in five of their last seven Championship games and that defensive solidity could be the difference between these two here.

Will Keane to score at any time @ 15/8

Will Keane has been Preston’s primary goal threat this season, scoring 12 times in 27 league starts and he is fancied to add to that tally here.

The former Manchester United man is one of North End’s penalty takers and could be the one to exploit the visitors’ poor defensive record.

Only Blackburn and Rotherham have conceded more goals than Huddersfield’s 65 and Keane is fancied to add to that tally.
