Wolves boss Rob Edwards is currently dealing with injuries to Hwang Hee-chan (calf) and Leon Chiwome (knee). After a strong display on Friday, the former Middlesbrough head coach may decide to field the same XI against Liverpool.

Midfielder Andre is walking a disciplinary tightrope. One more yellow card would take his total for the season up to 10, which will trigger a two-game suspension.

After two slender 1-0 wins at Sunderland and Nottingham Forest, Liverpool showed their attacking quality against West Ham at the weekend and Slot will be hoping for more of the same on Tuesday.

Wolves will be spurred on by beating high-flying Villa last time out, so this may end up being another close encounter between these two sides. Just one goal has separated them in each previous three meetings, and both teams have found the net on every occasion.

I think Liverpool's quality in depth should prove too much for the Old Gold to handle but the hosts are more than capable of breaching their opponents' defence, having scored in each of their past three home games in this competition.

Wolves' midfield pairing of Andre and Joao Gomes have had a lot of work to get through this season, and it has mostly been out of possession. The Brazilians have had to get stuck into a lot of unpleasant battles which have helped to leave Andre with nine yellow cards in the league.

No player in the division has picked up more bookings than the midfielder, who has so far committed 32 fouls across 26 appearances. Andre has been carded four times in his previous six outings as he precariously sits one away from a two-match ban.

Interestingly, it was against Liverpool that the 24-year-old reached the five-card threshold to trigger a one-game suspension back in December. Given the operators Liverpool have in the middle of the park, namely Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch, I suspect Andre will be pulled into trouble.
