West Ham vs Newcastle Prediction: Magpies to deal a Hammer blow

West Ham United will look to end their three-game losing streak in the Premier League on Sunday (14:00 GMT, Sky Sports Main Event) when they host Newcastle United at the London Stadium.
The Magpies make the trip to the capital off the back of three consecutive victories in all competitions, which I think spells trouble for the Hammers. Below you will find my West Ham vs Newcastle predictions, aided by the latest team news and match odds.

Team News
West Ham are without the services of Niclas Fullkrug and Konstantinos Mavropanos due to muscle injuries, while Ollie Scarles is out with a shoulder issue which he picked up in the defeat against Leeds United last time out. He has since had surgery and won't be back in action until December.
George Earthy is another Hammer in the medical bay with a hamstring problem.
Callum Wilson replaced Scarles at Elland Road and the striker may be considered by Nuno Espiroto Santo to start this match.
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe is still having to manage a number of injuries himself. Yoane Wissa, Valentino Livramento (both knee), Harrison Ashby and Lewis Hall (both thigh) are all ruled out for this clash.
Sven Botman was able to make the squad against Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup last time out, so he may be able to return to the team sheet on Sunday. Jacob Murphy, Bruno Guimaraes, Anthony Gordon, Joelinton and Nick Pope are all expected to return to the XI after being rested in midweek.
West Ham vs Newcastle Predicted Lineups
- West Ham: Areola; Wan-Bissaka, Todibo, Kilman, Diouf; Magassa, Soucek; Bowen, Paqueta, Summerville; Wilson
- Newcastle: Pope; Trippier, Thiaw, Botman, Burn; Guimaraes, Tonali, Joelinton; Murphy, Woltemade, Gordon
West Ham have only managed one league win in nine attempts and they are 9/2 to come out on top here.
The draw is marketed at 3/1 while Newcastle are 4/6 to come away with the three points. The Magpies are 7/4 (implied probability of 36.4%) to win to nil, which has been the case in two of their last three wins in all competitions.
They are also 13/10 to keep a clean sheet, while BTTS - No is 1/1.
West Ham vs Newcastle Stats
- Newcastle have won two of their last three games in all competitions to nil
- Nick Woltemade (NEW) has four goals in six league games this season
Newcastle to win to nil @ 7/4
You have to fear for West Ham this season. There seems to be a real lack of quality in the side and the way they have gone about defending has been farcical at times. Nuno did an excellent job in his previous post at Nottingham Forest but I don't think even he is capable of saving this sinking ship.
There was a glimmer of hope in his first game against Everton, in which the Irons took a point, but three successive defeats followed, with more poor defending.
Newcastle head to east London off the back of three successive victories in all competitions and they will have paid close attention to how fragile West Ham are from crosses and set-pieces.
At the moment, the hosts are far too reliant on Jarrod Bowen to bail them out on a regular basis, which is simply unsustainable. The Hammers are going to find it tough to lay a glove on Newcastle's back line, who have kept two clean sheets in their previous three outings. Therefore, I think backing the Magpies to win to nil offers great value for Sunday's contest.

Nick Woltemade anytime goalscorer @ 5/4
Newcastle's new front man has already appeared in a lot of my selections this season and for good reason. The Magpies seem to have hit the nail on the head with their Alexander Isak successor, and with Woltemade aged just 23, they have their man for the long-term (they hope anyway).
It didn't take him long to get up and running in front of goal and he already has four in six league appearances this term. Two of them have been headers, which I think could be the method in which he scores against West Ham given their obvious frailties from crossing situations.
His latest goal also came via his head in the 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup in midweek.
