Sunderland vs Everton Prediction: Black Cats to claw the downbeat Toffees

After stunning Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last Saturday, Sunderland will look to take down Everton on home soil at the Stadium of Light on Monday (20:00 GMT, Sky Sports Main Event).
The Toffees saw their unbeaten record at their new stadium ended last Sunday as they were defeated 3-0 by Tottenham Hotspur. Read on for my Sunderland vs Everton predictions, aided by the latest team news and match odds.

Team News
Sunderland should be able to welcome back defender Omar Alderete on Monday after he missed last week's win due to concussion protocols. Simon Adingra is also expected back after a recent hamstring issue, while Dan Neil should also be available for the hosts.
The Black Cats are still dealing with injuries to Aji Alese (shoulder), Dennis Cirkin (wrist), Leo Hjelde (Achilles), Romaine Mundle (hamstring) and Habib Diarra (groin).
Granit Xhaka will continue in midfield as captain while Wilson Isidor, who grabbed his first away goal of the campaign, should continue to lead the line for Sunderland.
Everton remain without the services of Jarrad Branthwaite and Nathan Patterson due to hamstring and foot injuries respectively. Boss David Moyes has no other fresh concerns to worry about heading into Monday.
Thierno Barry looked bright in his cameo against Spurs last time out, so he may be considered to lead the line on Wearside in place of Beto. The other attacking roles should remain filled by Jack Grealish, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Iliman Ndiaye.
Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford is set to face his boyhood club for the first time since leaving them in 2017.
Sunderland vs Everton Predicted Lineups
- Sunderland: Roefs; Hume, Mukiele, Alderete, Reinildo; Xhaka, Geertruida, Sadiki; Talbi, Isidor, Le Fee
- Everton: Pickford; O'Brien, Keane, Tarkowski, Mykolenko; Garner, Gueye; Ndiaye, Dewsbury-Hall, Grealish; Barry
Sunderland have won three of their first four home games in the Premier League and they are 7/4 (implied probability of 36.4%) to pick up another victory at the SOL.
The other result here was a draw with Aston Villa - a game in which the Black Cats went down to 10 men - and the stalemate on Monday is priced at 21/10.
Everton are 9/5 to come away with the three points, having won just one of their four away trips in the top flight.
Two of the four league games here this term have seen both teams get on the scoresheet, with BTTS - Yes marketed at 10/11.
Sunderland vs Everton Stats
- Sunderland have won three of their four home matches in the PL
- Three of Wilson Isidor's (SUN) league goals have come at home
Match Result - Sunderland @ 7/4
Sunderland have been very impressive in the first couple of months of the campaign, and they have certainly silenced a lot of people who thought they were the most likely promoted side to be at risk of relegation.
The Black Cats are sixth in the table, 11 points clear of the bottom three. A win here would move them up to second in the table, and I think this is what will happen on Monday.
They have been at their most effective when playing at home but last week's success at Chelsea will likely have added an extra degree of confidence to the squad, and they will have seen Everton get easily beaten at home last weekend. Sunderland should be thinking that the Toffees are there for the picking.
The home side are gunning for a third-straight victory in the Premier League and they are building some real momentum that Everton are going to struggle to stop.

Wilson Isidor anytime goalscorer @ 2/1
He may not have been the leading front man when the season started but Isidor has quickly made himself undroppable for Sunderland. Not just for his four league goals to date, but his overall contributions as the forward.
Before last weekend, all his Premier League goals had come at the Stadium of Light, and the strike at Chelsea ended a three-game streak without one. Confidence has surely been restored to the Dutchman and I think there is value to be had in backing him to strike on home soil again.
Everton were hit for three at home last week and their defence could be a little fragile ahead of the trip to Wearside. Isidor is the man who can capitalise.
