Premier league predictions

Gameweek 7 of the Premier League comes our way this weekend and there's no other way of putting it - last week's efforts were dismal. Five points picked up between us across 10 games.

Surely things can't get much worse this time around. You will find our score predictions below.

Conor's Premier League Predictions - Gameweek 7

  • AFC Bournemouth vs Fulham (Friday 20:00 BST) - 2-0 @ 17/2

  • Manchester United vs Sunderland (Saturday 15:00 BST) - 1-2 @ 16/1
  • Chelsea vs Liverpool (Saturday 17:30 BST) - 1-2 @ 8/1

AFC Bournemouth vs Fulham (Friday 20:00 BST) - 2-0 @ 17/2

AFC Bournemouth are unbeaten in their last five Premier League matches, but they had to rescue a point at Leeds United last weekend to keep the streak going. The Cherries return to the Vitality Stadium on Friday as they play host to Fulham.

Bournemouth are yet to be beaten on home soil, while the visitors are yet to win on their travels. Much has been made of the hosts' defensive performance at home, conceding just once in three league appearances.

Fulham head here after losing 3-1 at Aston Villa last Sunday, and I think they will be set for more disappointment on the road.

Leeds United vs Tottenham Hotspur (Saturday 12:30 BST) - 2-2 @ 11/1

Leeds have had a respectable start to the season, winning two, drawing two and losing two of their opening six matches in the top flight. The Whites also remain unbeaten at home and they entertain Tottenham Hotspur at Elland Road on Saturday.

Spurs have drawn their last two outings in the league, the latest being against basement side Wolverhampton Wanderers, which was the Old Gold's first point of the campaign.

This is going to be a tough away trip for Thomas Frank's side and considering they have drawn three of their last four fixtures in all competitions, I fancy Leeds to take a point from this clash.

Nick: 1-2

Simon: 1-1

Arsenal vs West Ham United (Saturday 15:00 BST) - 3-0 @ 6/1

Arsenal are another side who remain unbeaten at home, The Gunners host West Ham United at the Emirates, looking to build on last week's late victory at Newcastle United.

West Ham picked up an impressive draw at Everton in Nuno Espirito Santo's first game in charge, but this will be a difficult game to follow up that result. Arsenal are excellent defensively and they are looking a lot more threatening in attack.

Nick: 2-0

Simon: 2-1

Manchester United vs Sunderland (Saturday 15:00 BST) - 1-2 @ 16/1

Ruben Amorim is making it difficult for supporters to defend him as Manchester United boss as they were beaten 3-1 at Brentford last weekend. Under the Portuguese coach, the Red Devils are still yet to record consecutive victories and he has been in charge since November.

United host Sunderland, who have lost just one of their opening six matches in the Premier League, at Old Trafford. The Black Cats have started well upon their return to the top flight and I believe they can add more pressure on Amorim's shoulders.

Chelsea vs Liverpool (Saturday 17:30 BST) - 1-2 @ 8/1

Chelsea suffered a late capitulation against Brighton & Hove Albion at Stamford Bridge last weekend and the Blues are in home action again on Saturday as they host league leaders Liverpool.

The Reds suffered their first league defeat of the campaign at Crystal Palace last week and they will look to get back to winning ways. Chelsea have lost two in a row in the top flight and I can see this streak continuing against the defending champions.

Nick: 1-3

Simon: 2-1

Aston Villa vs Burnley (Sunday 14:00 BST) - 2-1 @ 7/1

Aston Villa claimed their first league win of the season at home to Fulham last week and the Villans return to Villa Park on Sunday as they play host to Burnley.

The newly-promoted side have impressed in some of their matches so far but they have lost every match on their travels in the top flight. Villa have had their troubles in the first couple of months, and while the draw was tempting, I think they should have enough to make it two victories on the bounce.

Nick: 2-0

Simon: 2-0

Everton vs Crystal Palace (Sunday 14:00 BST) - 1-2 @ 9/1

Everton's unbeaten run at home continued on Monday against West Ham, but it was a game they would have been expected to win. But the truth is they could have easily ended up losing the match as the Irons were the side pushing in the second half.

The Toffees will hope for a stronger display at the Hill Dickinson Stadium when they welcome Crystal Palace, who are a much tougher opponent than West Ham. The Eagles are still unbeaten in the top flight and they inflicted a first defeat on Liverpool a week ago.

They have the joint-best defensive record in the division and I can see them picking up a win on Merseyside.

Newcastle United vs Nottingham Forest (Sunday 14:00 BST) - 3-1 @ 20/1

Newcastle suffered a late defeat at home to Arsenal last week but they followed it up with a thumping 4-0 display in the Uefa Champions League at Union Saint-Gilloise on Wednesday.

The Magpies will look to build on that when they return to St. James' Park on Sunday as they take on Nottingham Forest. The Tricky Trees are yet to win on the road in the top flight, while boss Ange Postecoglou is still searching for his first league win.

I don't see their fortunes changing here against a Newcastle side that are continuing to improve.

Nick: 2-1

Simon: 2-0

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Brighton & Hove Albion (Sunday 14:00 BST) - 1-2 @ 15/2

Wolves may feel that Tottenham's late equaliser last week was a hammer blow but they still secured their first point of the season. The Old Gold have lost all three league appearances at Molineux this term and up next for them is Brighton.

The Seagulls provided the late show at Chelsea last week to beat the 10-men side 3-1. I think they will have enough quality to claim the three points in the West Midlands.

Nick: 1-3

Simon: 0-2

Brentford vs Manchester City (Sunday 16:30 BST) - 2-2 @ 12/1

Brentford have started the season a lot better than most anticipated under Keith Andrews. The Bees are struggling on the road - losing all three away games - but they remain unbeaten at home, winning two out of three.

They take on Manchester City on Sunday and I think this could be a game in which the Citizens drop points. Pep Guardiola's side have won just once on the road in the top flight this term, and they were held to a draw at Monaco in the Champions League on Wednesday.

They have won just one of their previous four away games in all competitions, so I can see Brentford taking a draw on home turf.
