Premier league predictions

Nick still leads the way in our Premier League predictions leaderboard and has quite a comfortable gap on myself in second. Simon had a disastrous weekend as he forgot to declare his latest scores.

He will be hoping for a much better effort for Gameweek 28, with our latest picks presented below.

Wolves 1-1 Villa @ 6/1

Wolves are in desperate need of some wins if they are to pull off a miracle and maintain their Premier League status. A local West Midlands clash awaits them on Friday as Aston Villa head to Molineux.

The Old Gold salvaged a point against league leaders Arsenal on their last home appearance and two of their previous three outings in the top flight have been stalemates. The same goes for Villa, who were held at home to Leeds United last time out.

I think a 1-1 scoreline is realistic here.

Nick: 1-2

Simon: 0-2

Bournemouth 2-1 Sunderland @ 13/2

For the first time this season, Sunderland are on a three-game losing streak in the league. The Black Cats face a tough trip to AFC Bournemouth, who are unbeaten in seven matches in the top flight, including four victories.

The visitors are struggling with injuries at the moment and I think the Cherries can capitalise on home soil.

Nick: 3-1

Simon: 1-1

Premier League Odds

Burnley 1-2 Brentford @ 13/2

Brentford suffered a surprising home defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion last time out and they go in search of a response at Burnley. The Clarets are unbeaten in their previous two league fixtures, so the Bees have a battle on their hands.

Keith Andrews' side triumphed in the reverse fixture and given the options they have in the final third, I fancy them to get back to winning ways in Lancashire.

Nick: 1-3

Simon: 1-1

Liverpool 2-2 West Ham @ 14/1

Liverpool scraped their way past Nottingham Forest at the death last weekend and now they face another side scrambling for points at the bottom in West Ham United, who head to Anfield on Saturday.

The Reds are on a two-game hot streak in the Premier League, while the Irons are three game unbeaten themselves. They have drawn each of their last two games against Manchester United and Bournemouth.

Given Liverpool's inconsistency, Nuno Espirito Santo's men could be capable of taking a valuable point here.

Newcastle 1-1 Everton @ 13/2

Fresh from another midweek clash in the Uefa Champions League, I think we may see some tired legs in the Newcastle United ranks. They host Everton at St. James' Park, with the Toffees narrowly losing out to Manchester United at home on Monday.

The Magpies thumped Everton 4-1 in the reverse fixture but I am not expecting a repeat this weekend. Both teams are in disappointing form coming into this clash. The hosts have lost four of their past five fixtures in the league and the Toffees have lost two on the bounce.

I think both would be happy with a point here.

Nick: 1-1

Simon: 3-1

Leeds 1-2 Man City @ 13/2

Manchester City are continuing to put pressure on league leaders Arsenal. Pep Guardiola's side are looking to close the gap to two points when they travel to Leeds United, while still having a game in hand on the Gunners.

The two are still yet to meet at the Etihad in April, which is being set up to be a gargantuan battle. City are looking to make it four league wins on the spin when they face Leeds and I think they are more than capable, I just wouldn't expect the hosts to be blown away.

Nick: 0-2

Simon: 0-4

Brighton 2-1 Forest @ 7/1

Brighton & Hove Albion will look to do the double over Nottingham Forest when they collide at the Amex. The Seagulls ended a six-game winless streak in the Premier League by beating Brentford in west London last week and they will look to build on that against a struggling Forest side.

The Tricky Trees will likely have some tired legs after their Uefa Europa League tussle with Fenerbahce on Thursday and I think they can fall to their third defeat in four league games in Sussex on Sunday.

Nick: 2-2

Simon: 0-0

Fulham 2-1 Spurs @ 7/1

After an impressive 3-1 win at Sunderland, Fulham will look to land consecutive victories in the Premier League when they welcome struggling Tottenham Hotspur to Craven Cottage.

Spurs have now lost three consecutive matches in the top flight and sit just four points above the relegation zone. I think they are in real danger as I don't think Igor Tudor was a smart managerial appointment, and I fear this squad does not have the characters needed for a scrap of this scale.

Fulham win.

Nick: 2-2

Simon: 1-1

Man United 2-0 Palace @ 15/2

Crystal Palace may have snatched a late victory at home to Wolves last weekend but it still feels like the Eagles are in an early pre-season given Oliver Glasner is off at the end of the season, and his press conferences are putting stains on his legacy.

They head to Old Trafford to face Man United on Sunday and I cannot see anything other than a Red Devils victory.

Nick: 3-1

Simon: 2-1

Football Odds

Arsenal 3-1 Chelsea @ 12/1

Arsenal are probably sweating over the dropped points at Wolves last week, but they followed up with a big display against rivals Tottenham. They now take on another London rival in Chelsea, who make their way to the Emirates on Sunday.

The Gunners recently beat the Blues in both legs of their Carabao Cup semi-final, while they played out a 1-1 draw in the last league meeting at Stamford Bridge in November.

Arsenal cannot afford any more hiccups, so I am expecting another convincing win this weekend.
