Premier League Predictions: City can add to Newcastle’s woes

Nick is still way out ahead in the Premier League predictions leaderboard, but after a decent week before the international break, I (Conor) have moved ahead of Simon, who had a nightmare.
Below you will find our latest score predictions for Gameweek 12.

- Man United vs Everton (Mon 20:00) - 2-1 @ 7/1

Burnley vs Chelsea (Sat 12:30) - 0-2 @ 6/1
Burnley find themselves outside the relegation zone on goal difference right now and the Clarets have lost three of their last five outings in the top flight. They have a tough task ahead of them on Saturday as they entertain Chelsea, who have won four of their previous five matches in the league.
I think the Blues will have too much for the hosts to handle and I reckon they can record a clean sheet, too.
Nick: 0-2
Simon: 1-3
Bournemouth vs West Ham (Sat 15:00) - 2-1 @ 7/1
AFC Bournemouth were humiliated before the international break as they lost 4-0 at Aston Villa. The Cherries are two very different teams when they play at home and when they are away.
At home is where they are at their best, and I fancy them to bounce back at the first attempt when they welcome West Ham United to the Vitality Stadium. The Irons have just won consecutive games against Newcastle United and Burnley, but I think they may slip back into defeat here.
Nick: 3-1
Simon: 1-1
Brighton vs Brentford (Sat 15:00) - 2-2 @ 11/1
Brighton & Hove Albion have been finding consistency an issue this season as they are yet to win consecutive matches in the Premier League. They host Brentford, who have been faring well under Keith Andrews after a summer that looked like it could unbalance the Bees.
They have won three of their past four matches, but they tend to deliver their best stuff at home. However, I think they can gain a valuable point here because the Seagulls can be quite unpredictable.
Nick: 2-1
Simon: 1-1
Fulham vs Sunderland (Sat 15:00) - 1-2 @ 11/1
Marco Silva's future at Fulham remains up in the air and their form of late has added fuel to the fire. The Cottagers have lost four of their past five matches in the top flight and I think this trend will continue against high-flying Sunderland, who earned an impressive point against leaders Arsenal last time out.
Nick: 1-0
Simon: 1-1

Liverpool vs Nottingham Forest (Sat 15:00) - 2-0 @ 13/2
The international break looked to come at the right time for Liverpool as they too have lost four of their last five games in the league. The two-week break will give Arne Slot and his players a chance to reset and they cannot afford to drop many more points if they wish to defend their crown.
They welcome Nottingham Forest to Anfield, with the Tricky Trees unbeaten in two. I think this will be a tough away game for Forest and I do think Liverpool can start to conjure up a response as the congested festive schedule is on the horizon.
Nick: 2-1
Simon: 1-1
Wolves vs Crystal Palace (Sat 15:00) - 0-2 @ 8/1
Rob Edwards has inherited a messy situation at Wolverhampton Wanderers but his deep connection with the club has him thinking he can save the Old Gold from relegation.
Wolves are yet to win in the Premier League this campaign and they host Crystal Palace at Molineux on Saturday. The Eagles have been one of the stronger defensive sides in the division so far, so I think they can win and keep a clean sheet here.
Nick: 1-1
Simon: 2-1
Newcastle vs Man City (Sat 17:30) - 1-2 @ 15/2
Newcastle have had a poor start in the league and their clash with Manchester City at St. James' Park on Saturday gives them the opportunity to show that they can turn a corner. The Magpies have lost three of their last five, including one against struggling West Ham, while they have only managed three victories thus far.
City cruised past Liverpool 3-0 last time out and they have won four from five heading into this. Tyneside will be a tough place to go, but I am backing Pep Guardiola's men to further add to Newcastle's woes.

Leeds vs Villa (Sun 14:00) - 1-2 @ 8/1
Leeds United are having issues on their travels in the Premier League, but at home, they have largely been resolute. The Whites have lost just once at Elland Road so far and up next for them is in-form Aston Villa, who have won four from their last five matches.
The Villans have won just once on the road in 2025/26 so far, but they have been building lots of momentum in recent weeks, and I think they can edge this clash in Yorkshire.
Nick: 1-1
Simon: 0-2
Arsenal vs Tottenham (Sun 16:30) - 3-1 @ 10/1
Gabriel Magalhaes potentially missing one or two months due to injury could be a massive blow for Arsenal, and he will be a big miss in Sunday's derby meeting with Tottenham Hotspur. The defender scored in one of the clashes with Spurs last season but the presence he has in defence for the Gunners will be a sore miss.
However, there are still a lot of good defenders available for the hosts on derby day and Spurs are still struggling to convince in the opening months of the campaign. I think this could be a rather comfortable win for the league leaders.
Nick: 2-1
Simon: 2-0
Man United vs Everton (Mon 20:00) - 2-1 @ 7/1
Manchester United have drawn their past two league games but they won three on the bounce before that. The Red Devils take on Everton at Old Trafford on Monday night and the Toffees are tending to have more success at home than on their travels.
It will be a tough game for United to manage, though, but I fancy them to have enough about them to pick up another three points.
Nick: 1-2
Simon: 2-0
