Fulham vs Wolves Prediction: Old Gold winless run to continue

Wolverhampton Wanderers have endured a nightmare start to the Premier League season having failed to win in the opening nine matches but the situation is unlikely to improve at Fulham on Saturday (15:00 kick-off). Vitor Pereira’s team travel down to Craven Cottage in the capital on the back of a 4-3 League Cup defeat against Chelsea which followed a last-minute home defeat by Burnley last Sunday.

The Molineux club will be desperate to earn a first league victory of the season but face a Fulham side who have lost only once at home this season and that was against league leaders Arsenal. Wolves will hope to spring a surprise but it appears unlikely that the Old Gold will take three points against Marco Silva’s men. Read on for my Fulham vs Wolves predictions.

Team News

Fulham are still without striker Rodrigo Muniz who is not expected back until just before the next international break having not played since picking up a muscle injury in September.

Silva could be without a number of first-teamers with Joachim Andersen, Samuel Chukwueze, Antonee Robinson, Emile Smith Rowe and Harry Wilson all doubts having missed the League Cup penalty shootout victory over Wycombe in midweek.

Wolves duo Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and Toti Gomes will be assessed for the trip to Fulham having struggled with illness against Chelsea on Wednesday.

Defenders Matt Doherty and Ki-Jana Hoever remain sidelined as they recover from long-term injuries.

Match Odds

Fulham are priced at 5/6 to be victorious at Craven Cottage on Saturday while Wolves are 18/5 to claim a first win of the season. The draw is priced at 5/2.

Both teams finding the net is priced at 1/1 while Raul Jimenez is 4/1 to open the scoring against his former club.

Jorgen Strand Larsen who netted in Wolves’ defeat by Burnley, is 11/4 to get a goal any time against Fulham.

Premier League Odds

Fulham to win @ 5/6

The Cottagers have not won in five games and needed penalties to get the better of Wycombe in the League Cup. However, the recent run of form is not a true reflection of the quality in Silva’s side.

Taking on Wolves, Fulham will be confident of bouncing back and returning to winning ways in front of their own fans at Craven Cottage. The team’s only defeat so far was a narrow loss to league leaders Arsenal while they have beaten Leeds and Brentford.

Wolves are suffering a crisis of confidence right now following a woeful start to the season and so are the ideal opposition for Fulham to take on as they bid to get their campaign back on track.

In some ways, an away trip should take the pressure off Wolves as they will avoid the frustration enveloping Molineux right now but at the same time, Fulham’s home advantage will make life difficult for the visitors.

Wolves boss Pereira continues to face enhanced scrutiny and questions around his future will only increase if his side suffer an eighth loss of the season.

Both teams to score @ 1/1

Despite Wolves’ woes as the club sits rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table with just two points, Pereira’s side have only failed to find the net twice since the start of September.

Fulham have also scored in all but one of their matches during the same time period and so you can expect goals at both ends on Saturday.

What’s more, since February 2023, the two sides have met five times and both sides have scored on each occasion.

Fulham are rightly the favourites but while Wolves have struggled at the back this season, they have been able to take their chances.
