Chelsea vs Burnley Prediction: Cole to bully Burnley again

Chelsea are back in Premier League action this week having comfortably reached the Fifth Round of the FA Cup with a win over Hull City. Saturday’s opponents Burnley could not progress in the cup, losing 2-1 at home to Mansfield Town, but did win last time out in the league.

Team News
Cole Palmer missed the win over Hull as a precaution but should be fine to return here, and support Joao Pedro up top. Meanwhile, Liam Rosenior remains without the likes of Marc Cucurella, Levi Colwill and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, with Estevao and Pedro Neto likely to provide attacking thrust from wide positions, after the Portuguese scored a hat-trick in the FA Cup.
Jorrel Hato is likely to feature at left-back in the absence of Cucurella, while Reece James and Malo Gusto will battle it out for a spot at right-back.
Burnley boss Parker has a few injury issues in the form of Mike Tresor, Axel Tuanzebe and Connor Roberts, but Jaidon Anthony and Zian Flemming should return to the front three along with Marcus Edwards, having been rested for that cup defeat.
Chelsea vs Burnley Predicted Lineups
- Chelsea - Sanchez; James, Fofana, Chalobah, Hato; Santos, Caicedo; Palmer, Fernandez, Neto; Pedro
- Burnley - Dubravka; Laurent, Worral, Esteve; Walker, Ugochukwu, Hannibal, Humphreys; Edwards, Anthony; Flemming
Chelsea are 2/9 to win this game, giving them an implied win probability of 82%. Scott Parker’s Burnley are 11/1 for the win while a draw is priced at 11/2.
Over 2.5 goals is 4/9, BTTS is 1/1 and Palmer is 3/1 to score first.
Chelsea vs Burnley Stats
- Cole Palmer has scored eight and assisted six goals against teams that have come up from the Championship
- Kyle Walker has been booked eight times this season
Cole Palmer to score and assist @ 9/2
Palmer will be back in the XI on Saturday, and the England international is particularly lethal against newly-promoted teams. He’s scored eight and assisted six goals against teams that have come up from the Championship and given we can expect Chelsea to score a decent number of goals here, I think there’s a good chance Palmer has a big part to play in the goals.
He scored and got an assist when he played Burnley in October 2023, and although Burnley won their last away game at Crystal Palce - they did concede twice and they have conceded 51 goals this term, the most in the top flight. Palmer should have a field day.

Kyle Walker to be booked @ 13/5
Kyle Walker should play here either at right wing-back or right centre-back, and given the talent and pace of Chelsea’s attack, I think he’s a great price to be carded. He’s the most-booked Burnley player this season with eight yellows, and that puts him in the top 15% of Premier League players in 2025/26.
Decent price for the former Manchester City man to pick up a yellow at Stamford Bridge.
