Brighton vs Brentford Prediction: Form guide suggests plenty of goals at the Amex

Goal difference is the only thing separating Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford when the two teams square up in the Premier League on Saturday (15:00 GMT). The hosts are yet to be beaten at the Amex in the top flight, while the Bees are looking to impose themselves more on their travels.

Team News
Brighton have a fairly lengthy injury list heading into the weekend. Solly March and Adam Webster remain sidelined with knee issues. Karou Mitoma and Jack Hinshelwood are both struggling with ankle injuries, while James Milner has a muscle problem and Brajan Gruda has been dealing with an unspecified issue.
Joel Veltman returned to the squad last time out but he is going to find it tough to get back into the side as boss Fabian Hurzeler has opted for Mats Wieffer at right-back a lot this season.
Ferdi Kadioglu has made the left-back role his own in recent weeks after his first season in Sussex was plagued by a long-term toe injury. Summer signing Maxim De Cuyper has his work cut out to earn that spot back.
For Brentford, they have just two injury concerns at the time of writing in Kristoffer Ajer (back) and Antoni Milambo (knee).
With the Bees in decent form, boss Keith Andrews is unlikely to make too many changes to the side that defeated Newcastle United last time out, so expect the same attacking quartet of Dango Ouattara, Mikkel Damsgaard, Kevin Schade and Igor Thiago.
Brighton vs Brentford Predicted Lineups
- Brighton: Verbruggen; Wieffer, Dunk, Van Hecke, Kadioglu; Baleba, Ayari; Minteh, Rutter, Gomez; Welbeck
- Brentford: Kelleher; Kayode, Collins, Van den Berg, Hickey; Yarmolyuk, Henderson; Ouattara, Damsgaard, Schade; Thiago
Brighton have won three of their five home games in the Premier League so far this season and they are 19/20 to come out on top on this occasion.
The Seagulls have drawn twice at the Amex and their latest outing was a goalless stalemate with rivals Crystal Palace. The stalemate is priced at 11/4, which has an implied probability of 26.7%.
Brentford have won three of their last four games in the top flight, which included their first away win of the season at West Ham United. They are 11/4 to inflict a first home defeat upon Brighton.
No team has experienced BTTS - Yes strike in more Premier League matches this campaign than the hosts with eight from 11. This is available at 8/13 for Saturday.
Brighton vs Brentford Stats
- Eight of Brighton's 11 PL matches have seen both teams score
- Over 3.5 goals has struck in more Brentford games (six) in the league than anyone else
- Igor Thiago (BRE) is the second-highest scorer in the division with eight goals
Both Teams To Score - Yes & Over 3.5 Goals @ 15/8
Brighton versus Brentford. Seagulls versus Bees - something you do not want to be caught in the middle of when you are trying to enjoy your ice cream by the sea.
Pests of the highest order and for these two clubs, I predict they will be pestering each other's boxes given how the season has played out so far. When it comes to BTTS - Yes, no team has experienced this more than Brighton.
There have been goals at both ends in four of their five league encounters at the Amex. This was a winning selection by half-time when they last met in April at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Six of Brentford's top-flight appearances this term have featured four or more goals. Two have landed in five of their away trips, which came against their west London neighbours Chelsea and Fulham.
Over 3.5 goals has successfully landed in two of their previous three league games as they head to the south coast, and I think these two markets can combine for a nice 15/8 winner on Saturday.

Anytime Goalscorer - Igor Thiago @ 8/5
With Brentford losing Ivan Toney, Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa in the last 10 months, you wondered where the goals were going to come from. Thiago was brought in last season but his debut campaign was restricted due to injury.
It has only been since the beginning of the new campaign that supporters have been able to see what he is all about, and so far it is all good. The striker has eight goals already in the Premier League and only Manchester City's Erling Haaland has more with 14.
Three of them have come away from home and he heads to Sussex having netted four in as many matches. I think he the person to pick out when looking for a goalscorer punt here.
