Premier League Top Half Finish Odds: Everton can push on under Moyes

With the Premier League season getting underway this weekend, we at Betfred Insights are going to whet your appetite by giving you an overview of the current outright markets available.
In this edition, I will be taking a look at the clubs who I think offer value for placing in the top 10 in the Premier League this term using Betfred's Top Half Finish Odds.
Premier League Top 10 Finish Odds
Brighton & Hove Albion @ 8/13
Brighton & Hove Albion posted a respectable eighth-place finish last season in Fabian Hurzeler's first year in charge. Given the harmony on and off the pitch at the Amex Stadium, the Seagulls are likely to be in for another impressive campaign - and they will have ambitions of returning to the European spots.
The Sussex outfit have bolstered their ranks over the summer with some impressive signings, notably left-back Maxim De Cuyper from Club Brugge, who has been impressing in Belgium over the past couple of years.
Then there is Charalampos Kostoulas, who has joined from Olympiacos. The 18-year-old Greek forward is being tipped for a huge future in the game. Another bright prospect has joined in the form of Tom Watson from Sunderland. Their squad depth is getting stronger, so I think the Seagulls are likely to post another top-10 finish.
Nottingham Forest @ 11/8
Nottingham Forest were the surprise package in the Premier League in 2024/25 as they threw themselves into the Uefa Champions League mix. The Tricky Trees spent a lot of time inside the top four but their form spiralled at a critical point in the season, leaving them to settle for a seventh-place finish.
They may have lost Anthony Elanga to Newcastle United, but they have found a very good replacement in Dan Ndoye from Bologna, and I'm looking forward to seeing him in action. The biggest bit of business the Reds have made this summer is tying captain Morgan Gibbs-White down to a new contract.
European football awaits Nuno Espirito Santo and his players this term, which will give them a gruelling schedule to contend with. Keeping on an upward trajectory in the league may prove difficult but with added resources to strengthen the squad, Forest should be able to hold on to a place inside the top half.

AFC Bournemouth @ 11/8
When playing at their best last season, I considered AFC Bournemouth to be the most exciting team to watch in the top flight. But like Forest, they had a wobble which cost them a chance of qualifying for Europe.
Andoni Iraola currently looks like he is going to have a tough task ahead of him this year following some huge losses in his squad. His defence is going to look very different this campaign following the losses of Milos Kerkez (Liverpool) and Dean Huijsen (Real Madrid), while Illia Zabarnyi is closing in on a switch to Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain.
The trio will have fetched the Cherries a very pretty sum which will need to be smartly invested for Iraola to keep them pushing higher up the table. Just two additions have been made so far in Djordje Petrovic (Chelsea) and Adrien Truffert (Rennes), who will look to fill the void at left-back following Kerkez's exit.
Right now, Bournemouth look considerably weaker than they did 12 months ago, and I would say a place in the top 10 might be out of reach for them as things stand. They need a strong end to the transfer window.
Everton @ 15/8
With a pre-season behind him, there is belief that David Moyes can help push Everton on this term. The Toffees will be settling into their new surroundings at the Hill Dickinson Stadium this year and there have been some eye-catching signings to go with it.
Everton have splashed out on forward Thierno Barry from Villarreal who bolsters their forward line following Dominic Calvert-Lewin's departure. Carlos Alcaraz has signed permanently following his impressive loan spell from Flamengo, while they have acquired bright young talent Adam Aznou from Bayern Munich.
The latest addition to the Toffees' ranks is Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Chelsea, which I think is an excellent signing. The midfielder made a mistake moving to Stamford Bridge but I think he has the ability to become a top player on Merseyside.
To make this window even better, it's now reported that Jack Grealish is set to join them on loan for the season from Manchester City. The attacker has lost his way at the Etihad Stadium but with a World Cup approaching he needs regular game time to try and battle his way into Thomas Tuchel's squad.
For the first time in a long time, I can say I am feeling somewhat positive about Everton heading into a new season, and they may surprise us by finishing in the top half. If the signings are as effective as they hope, I don't see why they can't.

Crystal Palace @ 15/8
After claiming their first piece of silverware in May by winning the FA Cup, Crystal Palace secured European football. It should've been the Uefa Europa League but the Eagles have been demoted to the Conference League due to ownership regulations. It's a blow, but I think Palace have a squad capable of winning this competition.
They further added to their trophy cabined on Sunday as they defeated league winners Liverpool in the Community Shield at Wembley. There is no doubting the quality of Oliver Glasner's starting XI, which I think is capable of pushing for the top six - but their squad depth needs to improve for that to happen.
We may be used to seeing the Eagles finish mid-table year-on-year but I think at the very least this season they can break into the top 10, particularly if they can keep star players Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi.
Fulham @ 9/4
Inconsistency has been Fulham's problem since returning to the Premier League. They have a good coach in Marco Silva, who has a decent squad at his disposal. They have threatened to break into the top half in recent years but they have often let themselves down.
It is going to be even harder for them this year given how much strengthening is going on around them, while they are yet to conduct any business of note in the transfer window.
The Cottagers will need to bolster their ranks if they are to push higher up the table. As of right now, I think a top-10 finish is going to be a stretch for them. If they don't add to their squad, it may even be a troublesome campaign for the Whites.
