West Ham United vs Chelsea - 0-2 @ 15/2

West Ham United collapsed in the second half at Sunderland last weekend to lose 3-0, so there is still plenty of work for Graham Potter to do to try and get the Irons competitive.

A tough home game awaits them on Friday night as Chelsea visit the London Stadium. The Blues had to settle for a point at home to Crystal Palace last time out but they can get the mark off against a Hammers side that doesn't fill me with confidence.

Nick: 1-3

Simon: 0-3

Manchester City vs Tottenham Hotspur - 2-1 @ 7/1

Manchester City posted another opening day victory in the Premier League last week as they cruised to a 4-0 victory at Wolverhampton Wanderers, and for the fourth year in a row Erling Haaland was on the scoresheet. It may have only been Wolves but Pep Guardiola's side looked impressive, and they look stronger with their summer signings.

They host Tottenham Hotspur at the Etihad on Saturday, with Spurs securing a 3-0 home win against Burnley in Gameweek 1. This could be a tighter affair than the games they both experienced last time out but I fancy City to edge this one.

Nick: 2-2

Simon: 2-1

AFC Bournemouth vs Wolves - 3-2 @ 20/1

AFC Bournemouth put up a fight at Liverpool on opening night but ultimately fell to a 4-2 defeat at Anfield. They will fancy their chances on home soil against Wolves on Saturday, with the visitors shipping four goals against City.

Neither defence fills me with confidence after what I saw last week, and there could be plenty of goals on offer in Dorset. I fancy the Cherries to come out on top, though.

Nick: 2-1

Simon: 2-0

AFC Bournemouth vs Wolves - Correct Score AFC Bournemouth 3-2

Brentford vs Aston Villa - 1-3 @ 14/1

After witnessing Keith Andrews' first Premier League game in charge of Brentford at Nottingham Forest last week, I am worried for the Bees, but take nothing away from the Tricky Trees who were superb in their 3-1 win.

Another tough game awaits Brentford as Aston Villa make the trip to the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday. The Villans took a point at home against Newcastle United despite going down to 10 men, and I think they should have no problems securing their first victory here.

Nick: 1-2

Simon: 0-1

Burnley vs Sunderland - 0-2 @ 14/1

Burnley will hope being back at Turf Moor will help them to get their first points on the board and they're up against fellow promoted side Sunderland, who will be brimming with confidence after hammering West Ham 3-0.

Over the summer, the Black Cats have strengthened the better of the two clubs and now they have better options in key attacking areas. I think they will hand the Clarets a second consecutive defeat.

Nick: 1-1

Simon: 0-0

Arsenal vs Leeds United - 2-0 @ 11/2

Arsenal were able to scrape a 1-0 win at Manchester United last Sunday and they were very fortunate. United were the better side over the course of the game and apart from their set-piece goal, the Gunners barely threatened the Red Devils' goal.

They will need to be a lot sharper against Leeds United on Saturday, who performed well in their 1-0 win at home to Everton on Monday. Arsenal's defensive solidity should do them a massive favour here, while they have the quality to nick one or two goals on home soil.

Nick: 3-0

Simon: 2-0

Crystal Palace vs Nottingham Forest - 1-2 @ 10/1

Crystal Palace were cruelly denied a victory at Chelsea last week as Eberechi Eze's stunning free-kick was chalked off for Marc Guehi's interference in the wall. It was a solid point for the Eagles on their travels and next up for them is Forest at Selhurst Park, with the visitors posting an impressive win against Brentford on Sunday.

I like both sides in terms of the way they play and the quality they have within their ranks. This is likely to be a tighter affair than Forest experienced against Brentford, but I think their squad depth will be the difference in south London.

Nick: 1-1

Simon: 1-1

Today's Football Fixtures

Crystal Palace vs Nottingham Forest - Correct Score Nottingham Forest 2-1

Everton vs Brighton & Hove Albion - 1-2 @ 8/1

Everton boss David Moyes told Monday Night Football that there is still plenty of work to do in the transfer window, and you can see what he meant as the Toffees delivered a flat performance at Leeds.

There were no authentic full-backs on the pitch which was causing them huge problems against the Whites' wingers. I think they could be in some more trouble as they make their Hill Dickinson Stadium bow in the Premier League. Brighton & Hove Albion are the visitors and the Seagulls looked good against Fulham, despite conceding a late equaliser.

Nick: 1-0

Simon: 2-0

Football Odds

Fulham vs Manchester United - 1-3 @ 16/1

Man United looked good against Arsenal and it looks like a pre-season under Amorim has got the squad in a much better position to play his style of football. The additions of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo have added something to their attack and I think this can cause Fulham some issues at Craven Cottage on Sunday.

The Whites pinched a draw at Brighton last week and based on how United performed against Arsenal, this looks to be a tough battle for Marco Silva's side. I'm going for an away win.

Nick: 2-1

Simon: 1-3

Newcastle United vs Liverpool - 3-2 @ 22/1

The excitement for this fixture has been building for weeks since the Alexander Isak saga began. The Newcastle United striker is wanting to join Liverpool and has been throwing a strop as a move is nowhere near close to materialising yet. Both he and Newcastle released statements on Tuesday, further staining this story.

For many Newcastle fans, there's no way back for the Sweden striker and they are not best pleased with Liverpool, either. By pure coincidence, this is who they face in their first home match of the campaign.

Monday night under the lights. There is going to be a hostile atmosphere in the stands and I can already see aggressive challenges from the likes of Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton flying in on Liverpool players. I think the Magpies can stun the defending champions here, who looked shaky at the back against Bournemouth.

Nick: 1-3

Simon: 2-2

Newcastle United vs Liverpool - Correct Score Newcastle United 3-2
