Portsmouth vs Stoke City Prediction: Pompey to extend impressive home form

Mark Robins will look to maintain his unbeaten start as Stoke City boss when his side travel to Fratton Park on Wednesday night (19:45, live on Sky Sports +) to face Portsmouth.
After a turbulent season so far, the hosts have managed to avoid defeat in the last six matches at home, but they currently occupy a place in the drop zone due to goal difference. Read on for my Portsmouth vs Stoke City prediction, as well as the latest team news and match odds.
Team News
Portsmouth will be without Regan Poole, Jacob Farrell, Ibane Bowat, Conor Shaughnessy, Mark O'Mahony and Kusini Yengi, while Paddy Lane looks set to miss the rest of the campaign with the knee injury he sustained against Blackburn Rovers.
As for the visitors, the likes of Million Manhoef, Sol Sidibe, Jordan Thompson, Eric Bocat, Lynden Gooch and Sam Gallagher all remain in the treatment room.
On a more positive note, Bosun Lawal and Ben Pearson are recovering from their respective injuries as planned, although Wednesday's clash will come too soon for the pair.
Pompey are 11/8 to claim all three points, giving them an implied win probability of 42.1%, with the draw currently priced up at 11/5 and a Stoke win can be backed at 7/4.
Colby Bishop tops the anytime goalscorer market at 2/1, while Nathan Lowe is shortest-priced for the visitors at 21/10
Portsmouth to win @ 11/8
Portsmouth's 2-1 win over Middlesbrough last time out snapped a three-game losing streak for John Mousinho's side, and they'll be looking to kick on from that result on Wednesday night.
The hosts have won five of their last six games at Fratton Park - the other being a goalless draw with Norwich City - meaning that their last home defeat was against Sheffield Wednesday in October.
Mousinho has made Fratton Park a fortress in recent weeks, which could prove to be crucial in Pompey's bid to stay in the second tier, and they'll fancy their chances against a Stoke side that are winless in their last six away trips.
Robins has made a steady start to his tenure as Stoke boss, having avoided defeat in his opening three matches in all competitions. However, he's still searching for a first league win in charge of the Potters.
With just one win in their previous seven away meetings with Portsmouth, I'm inclined to believe that Stoke will come away from Fratton Park empty-handed, and the hosts will claim a crucial three points.

Both teams to score @ 4/6
Despite occupying a place in the relegation places, only Coventry City have scored more goals than Pompey in the bottom half of the Championship table.
Mousinho's side have scored over 1.5 goals in 81 per cent of their matches this term, while Stoke have managed the same amount in 70 per cent of their fixtures.
Portsmouth are averaging 1.23 goals per game heading into Wednesday's clash, while Stoke's average is slightly lower at 0.93, so I think it's likely we'll see both teams find the back of the net at Fratton Park.
