Wembley Stadium

A big afternoon awaits Peterborough United and Wycombe Wanderers on Sunday (16:30) as the two League One sides go head-to-head in the EFL Trophy final at Wembley.

These sides have played out some thrilling encounters in recent years, but a tense affair is expected this weekend at the national stadium. Here's our Peterborough vs Wycombe prediction.

Peterborough vs Wycombe Tips

  • Draw (90 mins) @ 11/4
  • Under 2.5 goals (90 mins) @ 11/10

Match Odds

Peterborough are favourites at 5/6 to win in 90 minutes, while Wycombe are 3/1 to come out on top in regulation time - and the draw is priced at 11/4.

Peterborough’s Jonson Clarke-Harris is the shortest-price at 6/4 in the anytime goalscorer betting, while Wycombe’s veteran striker Sam Vokes is 23/10 in the same market.

Team News

Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson will once again have to do without injured goalkeeper Will Blackmore and midfielder Jeando Fuchs for the trip to Wembley.

After being dropped to the bench for the win over Leyton Orient last time out, Joel Randall is pushing for a return to the starting lineup.

As for Wycombe, boss Matt Bloomfield has his own injury concerns, with Kane Vincent-Young, Saxon Earley and Brandon Hanlan all ruled out.

Garath McCleary is a doubt after missing the last four games and Sunday’s match might come too soon.

Meanwhile, Josh Scowen will be hoping to be available despite being forced off during the first half of the 0-0 draw with Blackpool last time out.

Gideon Kodua and Bez Lubala are both ineligible for this weekend’s game, having previously played in the EFL Trophy for West Ham Under-21s and Burton Albion respectively.

Draw @ 11/4

The last time these sides met in the EFL Trophy last season the game required penalties to separate the sides.

That game finished 1-1 with Daryl Horgan and Clarke-Harris getting on the scoresheet and another stalemate might well be on the cards again on Sunday.

Wycombe do have the better recent record against Peterborough but Posh have been in decent form of late, winning seven of their last nine matches.

After drawing in two of their last four meetings in all competitions, these two sides could easily cancel each other out as they did in the EFL Trophy last season, which would set up a nail-biting conclusion to this Wembley final.

Draw in 90 minutes between Peterborough-Wycombe at 11-4

Under 2.5 goals @ 11/10

With neither team looking to give too much away, expect a cagey encounter between these sides in the Capital.

While a 0-0 draw is available at 12/1 and a 1-1 correct score is 13/2, both can be covered by looking to under 2.5 total goals in the match.
