Perth Glory vs Western Sydney Wanderers Prediction: Visitors to burst Glory’s bubble

Perth Glory failed to win any of their opening eight 2024/25 Australian A-League Men's fixtures, but a 1-0 victory over Auckland on Saturday made it two in their last five, pulling them six points clear of stragglers Brisbane Roar. The Glory's next assignment arrives at HBF Park on Tuesday (10:45, TNT Sports 1) when they host Western Sydney Wanderers, who haven't played since drawing 2-2 with Melbourne Victory on January 4.
Below is my Perth Glory vs Western Sydney Wanderers prediction, complete with all the latest team news and match odds.
Perth Glory vs Western Sydney Wanderers Betting Tips
Team News
David Williams and Nikola Mileusnic are both out injured for Perth Glory, who have called Abdul Faisal and Will Freney into their extended squad which will be cut by two on matchday.
Last season's Golden Boot winner and Perth Glory captain Adam Taggart was substituted at half-time of his side's 3-0 defeat to Sydney on January 8 but started and finished their win over Auckland last weekend. The 31-year-old should lead the line again on Tuesday alongside 18-year-old Jaylan Pearman, who only made his league debut on January 3 but struck the winner against the Black Knights.
Western Sydney Wanderers played two games in four days at the start of the calendar year, losing 3-2 at home against Macarthur on New Year's Day before their stalemate with Melbourne Victory on January 4. They haven't played since, meaning they should be well-rested ahead of their trip to Perth, although the argument could also be made that there may be some rustiness in their ranks.
The time between fixtures hasn't been long enough to bring back injured trio Dylan Scicluna, Gab Cleur and Jeong Tae-wook, though, all of whom remain in the treatment room.
However, midfielder Dean Pelekanos is back from suspension.
Perth Glory vs Western Sydney Wanderers Odds
Western Sydney Wanderers won two of their three games against Perth Glory last season including the last meeting between the two, a 2-1 success at HBF Park last March. The Wanderers have been installed as 3/5 favourites on Tuesday, giving Alen Stajcic's side an implied win probability of 62.5%, while the Glory are 100/30, or a 23.1% chance, to record back-to-back victories for the first time this term.
There hasn't been a head-to-head draw since April 2022 but you can back a stalemate here at 3/1, while both teams to score, which landed in both contests in 2024, is priced at 4/9.
WSW's Brandon Borrello (11/10) is favourite in the anytime goalscorer market with Taggart (11/8) first up for David Zdrilic's charges.
Match Result & Both Teams to Score - Western Sydney Wanderers & Yes @ 8/5
The Glory will have taken a great deal of confidence from Saturday's triumph over early ALM pacesetters Auckland who, despite a second-half onslaught, could not break down their opponent's unusually stubborn defence, which picked up just a third clean sheet of the campaign. Surprisingly, despite conceding a league-high 33 goals, 11 more than Tuesday's visitors, the Glory have kept two more clean sheets than the Wanderers whose only one of the season came in a 2-0 win at Melbourne City on November 30.
However, the Wanderers have scored 26 times, and only Sydney (29) and Macarthur (27), who have played one and two games more respectively, have netted more ALM goals in 2024/25. It won't come as a shock, therefore, to see WSW sat top of the ALM 'Both Teams to Score' table with 91 per cent (10) of their matches ending with at least one goal for either side.
Perth rank lowly in the table with just 31 per cent (four) of their 13 games seeing both teams strike; however, one of those occasions was earlier this year at HBF Park on January 3 when Western United beat them 3-2. The Glory have now scored in back-to-back home games and they should fancy their chances of breaching the division's third-worst defence on Tuesday.
Despite my belief that Zdrilic's side can get on the scoresheet, I do think the visitors will come out on top. The Wanderers haven't won a game in 2025 but prior to their failure to beat either Macarthur or Melbourne Victory, neither of whom are easy opponents, Stajcic's men were on a four-match unbeaten run that included triumphs against Melbourne City (0-2), Wellington Phoenix (4-1) and Adelaide United (2-3).
WSW have also lost just one of their five away games and that came in the Sydney derby on November 23. They got the better of the Glory twice last season and the attacking quality in their squad should see them through on Tuesday.

Anytime Goalscorer - Nicolas Milanovic (WSW) @ 23/20
There's nothing particularly clever about this pick, nor are the odds super-high. However, we're still getting over EVS for the joint-third top scorer in the division, Nicolas Milanovic, to score anytime against the worst defensive side in the ALM.
The Glory concede, on average, 2.54 goals per game, while the Wanderers score, on average, 2.36 per game. Tuesday's visitors to HBF Park have struck 26 times in the league so far and Milanovic has been responsible for six of them, which accounts for 23 per cent of their total.
The 23-year-old was on target last time out as he put WSW 2-1 up against Melbourne Victory before the hosts equalised in the 87th minute to share the spoils at AAMI Park. He's well on course to beat last season's nine-goal tally and the Aussie winger will now be desperate to bring up a first-ever career strike against the Glory, who he has faced six times previously without any success in front of goal.
