A new era beckons for Perth Glory after confirmation today that the club has been bought by the Pelligra Group, with new chairman Ross Pelligra reportedly landing in Perth in time to greet fans ahead of their Australian A-League Men's match with Brisbane Roar on Saturday (KO, 10:45).

The Western Australia outfit have been mired in financial problems for some time now, with performances on the pitch mirroring the issues off of it. Amid recent rumours of new ownership, though, the Glory have hit some form, taking eight points from their last four games to move away from bottom club Western United.

The visitors will be looking to act as party-poopers at HBF Park, though, and they will be emboldened by the 5-1 drubbing they delivered 2022-23 Premiership champions Melbourne City last weekend.

Perth Glory vs Brisbane Roar Betting Tips:

  • Perth Glory to win and both teams to score - Yes @ 12/5
  • Adam Taggart to score first @ 4/1

Team News

The home side will be without midfielder Mustafa Amini again as he continues his recovery from a rib injury, while Johnny Koutroumbis' hip issue sees him sidelined for successive weeks.

Stefan Colakovski is back in the squad, though, after serving a suspension in last Saturday's 3-3 draw with Adelaide United.

Brisbane Roar captain Tom Aldred could return to the side after missing the past two games with a tight calf, but Scott Neville and Ryan Brownlie are still unavailable.

Marco Rojas is still awaiting a first start in orange after joining the club last month.

Match Odds

Perth Glory are slight favourites to take the victory at 5/4, with Brisbane Roar at 6/4 to pick up three points and the draw priced at 11/4.

17 of the Glory's last 20 A-League Men's home games have ended with both sides scoring, and it's 4/11 for it to happen again on Saturday.

Perth Glory to win and both teams to score - Yes @ 12/5

No team in the division has seen as many goals in their games this season as Perth Glory, who have scored 32 - more than nine other sides - but conceded 36. Only one club has shipped more in the A-League Men's - Brisbane Roar (37).

The Brisbane outfit haven't been shy in front of goal themselves, finding the net on 28 occasions, so we should see goals on both sides on Saturday.

However, with positivity in the air at HBF Park as a result of the new ownership, and on the back of a four-game unbeaten run, the Glory might have too much for the Roar in Perth.

As impressive as last week's win over Melbourne City was, they were playing a side low on confidence, which shouldn't be the case this weekend, and prior to that, the Roar had lost seven out of nine.

The home side are five points behind their next opponents in the table, and could really do with taking all three points to catch them and push up closer to the play-off spots.

Perth Glory to win & BTTS - Yes in Perth Glory vs Brisbane Roar at 12-5

Adam Taggart to score first @ 4/1

The Glory's main man has found the net in 10 of his 14 A-League Men's appearances this season, and only sits behind three players in the goalscoring charts.

Taggart has also scored in his last two outings at HBF Park, and is no stranger to breaking the deadlock in games.

The 30-year-old has scored the first goal on four separate occasions this season, and has acted as his side's first goalscorer a further three times.

Expect the Glory to attack from the off on Saturday, with Taggart likely right amongst the chances.
