The final day of Group G in the Copa Libertadores sees Uruguayan outfit Penarol host Rosario Central of Argentina on Tuesday (23:00), with both sides still in with a chance of joining Atletico Mineiro in the knockout stages of the tournament.

The hosts are two points clear in second place and so have the advantage going into this encounter, with Decano requiring a single point to confirm their progression in the competition. Only a win will do for Rosario but form is not on their side going into this fixture and the Canalla could be on course to drop into the Copa Sudamericana once more.

  • Over 1.5 Home Goals @ 5/4

Penarol vs Rosario Central Odds

Penarol are the warm favourites to secure their spot in the next round of the Copa Libertadores at EVS whereas Rosario are 13/5 to claim the shock victory at the Estadio Campeón del Siglo.

The draw provides odds of 21/10, while over 2.5 goals in the game can be backed at 5/4.

Team News

Penarol boss Diego Aguirre will likely be without first choice goalkeeper Guillermo de Amores after the 29-year-old reportedly tore a tendon in training earlier in May and so Washington Aguerre will be expected to retain his place in goal for Decano.

That remains the only injury concern for the Uruguayans, with striker Maximiliano Silvera - who has five goals to his name already this season in this competition - likely to lead the line once more.

Rosario manager Miguel Angel Russo has a longer injury list to contend with going into this crucial fixture, with a minimum of three first-team players expected to miss out.

Former Hull City striker Abel Hernandez is expected to be out for at least another month with a thigh problem, while Francis Mac Allister and Agustin Bravo will both be absent with cruciate ligament injuries.

Penarol to win to nil @ 21/10

Penarol are currently on a seven-game unbeaten run in all competitions - winning each of their last five - and this should put them in good stead to get the better of a Rosario side with just two wins from their last nine.

Decano have been impressively resolute in defence across this run, with five clean sheets kept across this streak, while only four sides in the competition have conceded fewer goals than their four in the group stages and so a shutout victory could be in store for the hosts.

Penarol to win to nil at 21/10 Over 1.5 Home Goals @ 5/4

While their defence has rightfully received plenty of plaudits, Penarol also have shown their capabilities in attack, scoring in each of their last 13 matches in all competitions.

Three of their last four home matches at the Estadio Campeón del Siglo have seen Penarol score at least two goals and, with the likes of Silvera - who ranks in the top three for goals scored in the Copa Libertadores this season - leading the line, the hosts should be able to grab at least a brace.
