Parma vs Lecce Prediction: More chaotic scenes between Serie A strugglers

A pair of Serie A strugglers meet at the Stadio Ennio Tardini on Friday night (19:45) as 16th-placed Parma host Lecce (18th) in the Italian top flight. The sides have already faced off this season, back in September at Lecce's Stadio Via del Mare, but nothing could separate them as they drew 2-2 in an ill-tempered clash that produced two red cards and four yellows.
Below is my Parma vs Lecce prediction for this Friday's fixture, complete with all the latest team news and match odds.
Parma vs Lecce Betting Tips
Team News
Parma lost full-back Woyo Coulibaly to Leicester City earlier this month while fringe players Leandro Chichizola and Wylan Cyprien departed for Spezia and Changchun Yatai respectively.
However, I Crociati have been busy making their own signings, bringing in Norwegian defender Mathias Lovrik and Bosnian forward Milan Djuric, who both made their debut in last Sunday's dramatic late defeat at AC Milan (3-2). Swedish winger Jacob Ondrejka has also joined but he was left on the bench at San Siro.
All three will hope to feature at some point on Friday, with a start for all three not out of the question.
Parma's defensive options are limited, though, with Botond Balogh (calf), Yordan Osorio (herniated disc), and Alessandro Circati (knee) all sidelined. Gabriel Charpentier (Achilles), Mateusz Kowalski (knee) and Adrian Bernabe (thigh) are all expected to sit out again, too, while Enrico Del Prato will serve a one-game ban for an accumulation of yellow cards.
Creative midfielder Dennis Man is doubtful with a thigh strain, potentially opening the door for Pontus Almqvist to start.
Parma lost a full-back to the Premier League this month and Lecce could follow suit with Patrick Dorgu reportedly on his way to Manchester United to fix their wing-back woes on the left. The Dane has started all 21 of Lecce's Serie A contests this term but he will likely have to be replaced in the team that travels to Parma.
Dorgu has played a variety of positions for Lecce in 2024/25 but in last week's 4-0 defeat to Inter Milan, he was deployed as a left-back. Should head coach Fabio Pecchia elect to stick with that four-man defence formation, expect Antonino Gallo to replace Dorgu.
Lecce are still without injured quintet Lamekc Banda (ankle), Kialonda Gaspar (unspecified), Filip Marchwinski (knee), Hamza Rafia and Medon Berisha (both thigh).
Parma are winless in four games this calendar year, last tasting success on December 28 with a 2-1 victory over rock bottom Monza. Regardless, Friday's hosts are favourites at 23/20 for the three points here, implying a win probability of 46.5%, while Lecce are 12/5, or a 29.4% chance, to claim all three points and move above I Crociati in the table.
The draw is priced at 12/5, both teams to score at 8/11, and over 2.5 total goals at 10/11.
Booking Points Over/Under 52.5 - Over 52.5 @ 11/8
Things got pretty heated the last time these sides met, at Lecce's Stadio Via del Mara in September, with six cards dished out - two of a red variety, and four yellow. Lecce were responsible for five as Dorgu, Gaspar, Rafia and Ylber Ramadani were cautioned, and Frederic Guilbert was dismissed. Matteo Cancellieri, meanwhile, was shown Parma's only card, but it was a red one.
With yellows amounting to 10 booking points and straight reds 25 with Betfred, a total of 90 booking points were given in that stalemate.
There were 70 booking points in Parma's San Siro defeat last weekend and their two previous games, a 1-1 draw with Venezia and a 1-0 defeat to Genoa, saw exactly 50 booking points awarded, falling narrowly short of 52.5+ we need to land the above selection.
Meanwhile, Lecce's last away game, a 4-1 defeat to Cagliari on January 19, saw 65 booking points given.
With both sides level on 20 points and in danger of an end-of-season relegation dogfight, I can see a scrappy contest unfolding, with plenty of needle expected after both sides had a player sent off in the reverse fixture.

Price Boosts - 3+ Goals, 8+ Corners & 60+ Booking Points in the Match @ 4/1 5/1
I've already delivered my argument for a high booking points total in this match, so I'll focus on the first two selections here.
First up is over 2.5 total goals, which has landed in 14 (64 per cent) of Parma's 22 league outings this season, and 10 (45 per cent) of Lecce's. It's been less common for Lecce but certainly hasn't been of late with their last three games ending with at least four goals scored.
There were four goals shared between the two teams in September's reverse fixture and with both Parma and Lecce desperate to claim all three points on Friday to push themselves away from danger, we could see a few goals struck this week.
There were plenty of corners to go around in their game at the Ennio Tardini with 14 taken in total, two by Lecce and 12 by Parma.
Serie A matches involving Parma this term are averaging 11.6 corners per game and ones featuring Lecce 10.1 per game, so eight looks achievable on Friday.
This price boost was a winner earlier in the season and looks a good bet this time around, too.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
