PAOK Salonika vs Club Bruges Prediction: Thessaloniki tussle could produce plenty of cards

Club Bruges will be hoping they're not left to rue a missed penalty in Belgium when they take on PAOK Salonika in the second leg of their Europa Conference League quarter-final on Thursday. Brentford-bound forward Igor Thiago was the guilty party last week when he failed to add to the advantage already given to FCB by Hugo Vetlesen, meaning there is just a single goal separating these sides heading into the return fixture at Toumba Stadium in Thessaloniki.

Read on for all the latest team news and match odds heading into Thursday's 20:00 kick-off, which can be watched live in the UK on TNT Sports 7, and check out our PAOK Salonika vs Club Bruges prediction.

PAOK Salonika vs Club Bruges Betting Tips

  • Andrija Zivkovic to score anytime (90 mins) @ 12/5
  • Over 52.5 booking points (90 mins) @ 5/6

Team News

William Troost-Ekong hasn't played for PAOK since returning injured from a successful Africa Cup of Nations tournament with Nigeria, and the former Watford defender misses out once more on Thursday.

Ivan Nasberg and Thomas Murg missed last week's defeat in Belgium and the duo will absent again in the second leg.

The visitors still have several out injured including goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, Denis Odoi, Casper Nielsen and Andreas Skov Olsen, while a trio of players - Thiago, Brandon Mechele and Maxim De Cuyper - are suspended after an accumulation of yellow cards in the competition.

Match Odds

PAOK are 10/11 to win inside 90 minutes and get the result they need to at least force extra time on Thursday. Those odds give them an implied win probability of 52.4%, while Club Bruges are 13/5 - or a 27.8% chance - to do the double over their opponents. A draw inside 90, meanwhile, can be backed at 3/1.

Both teams to score (90 mins) in Thessaloniki is 4/6 and it's 8/11 for over 2.5 goals.

The odds are 7/1 if you fancy PAOK to reverse the first leg scoreline and win 1-0.

Andrija Zivkovic to score anytime (90 mins) @ 12/5

Andrija Zivkovic has scored 16 times for PAOK this season, with six of his goals arriving in the Europa Conference League. The 27-year-old has failed to fire in his last four appearances for the Greek giants but his last strike did come in this competition in a 5-1 win over Dinamo Zagreb on March 14.

The ex-Benfica man offers great value in the goalscorer market on Thursday, especially considering the three teammates ahead of him - Kiril Despodov (21/10), Mbwana Samatta (11/5) and Stefanos Tzimas (9/4) - have a combined three goals between them in the Europa Conference League this season.

Unlike the aforementioned trio, Zivkovic also tends to play the full game, with his last three outings seeing him complete the full 90-plus minutes.

He was one of their brighter players in Belgium last week, and I think he can rise to the occasion back in Greece.

Over 52.5 booking points (90 mins) @ 5/6

It was a pretty fiery encounter in Bruges as six yellow cards were dished out, four to the hosts and two to the visitors. At Betfred, a yellow card is worth 10 booking points, which meant the first leg produced 60 booking points in total.

That's what is required to land this selection on Thursday, and I think that number will at least be matched with the game so finely poised.

Club Bruges will go through to the semi-finals with a draw, so they'll be looking to frustrate the Greek side in front of their own fans.

This selection fell narrowly short in PAOK's last European game at Toumba Stadium, when five yellow cards were given in their 5-1 win over Dinamo Zagreb.
