Hull City vs Sheffield United @ 10/11

Hull have seen over 2.5 goals in 88% of their matches this season, with eight of their games in all competitions since that opening day 0-0 at Coventry City having three goals or more. Sheffield United have tried to tighten things up since Chris Wilder returned, but they lost 2-1 at home to Southampton in their last outing and are going to have to show a bit more intent to turn their season around.

With Tyrese Campbell, Gustavo Hamer and Callum O’Hare, they have enough attacking quality to score at Hull. I think this is a decent price for over 2.5 goals to get us up and running.

Sheffield Wednesday vs Coventry City @ 8/13

How many times shall I write about Coventry’s goalscoring exploits? Once more won’t hurt. 22 goals in eight league matches makes them the highest goalscorers in the Football League, and they’ve won their last two matches 3-0 and 4-0. Their underlying data is phenomenal and they should be able to hammer Sheffield Wednesday away from home.

Wednesday have done really well in recent weeks, and should have picked up a win at Birmingham - but conceded late to draw 2-2. Coventry should have the better of this one, and keep up their goalscoring form.

Blackpool vs AFC Wimbledon @ 11/10

An unlikely selection on paper, but these two League 1 teams could provide goals at a big price. AFC Wimbledon have seen over 2.5 goals in 60% of their 10 games so far, but that figure rises to a whopping 80% when we only factor in their away matches.

Now Blackpool have seen over 2.5 goals in 60% of their home ties, including their 2-2 draw at home to Luton Town in midweek. More goals please.

Football Odds

Plymouth Argyle vs Wigan Athletic @ 1/1

Plymouth have been so hard to judge under Tom Cleverley, but they’ve been good for goals, as 60% of their League 1 encounters have seen over 2.5 goals. Wigan sit at a hit rate of five out of 10 by comparison, but Plymouth have hit a purple patch in front of goals.

In their last five outings they have scored four, three, zero, six and four - hammering four past Burton Albion in their last fixture. Wigan’s last three away games have all seen over 2.5 goals, so this feels like a decent pick.

Newport County vs Swindon Town @ 8/11

Down to League 2 now and Swindon Town have seen all of their away matches this season contain over 2.5 goals - so it’s a good place to start. Overall, they top the charts with an 80% hit rate for this statistic, with Newport County not too far behind at 60%.

Ian Holloway’s team are remarkably entertaining and we can back this to continue on Saturday afternoon in the fourth tier. Our Saturday over 2.5 goals accumulator pays 21/1
