Over 2.5 Goals Tips: Entertainment expected from the EFL

My latest over 2.5 goals tips did not yield the results I was hoping for. Two of the matches were postponed and only one of the other four selections came in. I'm eager to bounce back with a vengeance this time around, looking for a more fruitful return this weekend.
There are some interesting battles coming our way on Saturday, and I've picked out six matches in which I believe will produce at least three goals. Read on for my over 2.5 goals tips, which are all exclusively from the EFL.

Luton Town vs Preston North End @ 11/10
The Matt Bloomfield era begins at Luton Town this weekend, with the head coach joining the Hatters from League 1 high-flyers Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday. His first game in charge fittingly comes at home as Luton welcome Preston North End to Kenilworth Road.
Bloomfield arrives having been punching at the top end of the table in the division below, and his latest task is to stop his new club from sliding into it. The hosts are two points above the relegation zone, so Bloomfield is expected to have a quick impact in Bedfordshire.
The new boss will look to rally his new players for his first match, which could be tricky after they have gone four without a win in the league. I sense this could be a good selection for over 2.5 goals because five of their last seven fixtures in the league have produced at least three goals, including two of their previous three on home soil.
Preston head here having experienced over 2.5 goals in two of their last three league away games, so I suspect Bloomfield be in for an interesting debut on Saturday.
Sheffield United vs Norwich City @ 1/1
For the first time this season, Sheffield United have gone two games without a win at Bramall Lane in the Championship, something they will look to change when they host Norwich City on Saturday. The Blades have looked vulnerable at the back in recent weeks and have conceded in each of their last four appearances in the second tier, of which they have won just once.
Over 2.5 goals has struck in their last two fixtures against Watford and Sunderland, so this trend could be worth backing to continue against the Canaries. The visitors head here without their star attacker Borja Sainz due to suspension, but they have seen three of their previous five away contests produce three or more goals in the second tier.
Bristol Rovers vs Barnsley @ 8/11
Barnsley's promotion credentials in League 1 have grown in recent weeks after winning four games on the bounce. The Tykes are just four points off Wycombe who sit second in the table.
Darrell Clarke's side are building momentum and they will look to extend their winning streak to six matches at Bristol Rovers on Saturday. I'm confident we will see plenty of goals here as over 2.5 goals has landed in each of Barnsley's last seven outings in the third tier, three of which were away from home.
Rovers have had three games under new boss Inigo Calderon so far in the league, and two of them have mustered at least three goals. Their last home game saw them offer a much larger threat going forward, scoring two goals for the first time in the league since early October.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
Peterborough United vs Leyton Orient @ 4/6
This campaign has been underwhelming for Peterborough United, who sit 19th in the table. Despite losing a number of key players over the summer, they were still expected to compete for the play-offs, which they accomplished in the previous two years.
As disappointing as it is, the fans have been treated to plenty of entertaining contests this season thus far. Over 2.5 goals has been a winning selection in 17 of their 24 league games to date, including five of their last six. Posh entertain one of the form sides in the division, Leyton Orient, on Saturday, and I feel these two could provide some excellent entertainment in the final third.
The Os are unbeaten in their last eight in the third tier, and they head to Peterborough having won five in a row. Four of the matches in this eight-game streak have conjured at least three goals, which bodes well for their clash against a team who are one of the highest scorers in the division, who also have the worst defensive record (46 goals conceded).
Accrington Stanley vs Notts County @ 8/11
Dropping down to League 2 now, where promotion-chasing Notts County travel to Accrington Stanley. The hosts have won two games on the spin in the league for the first time since October, while the Magpies have prevailed in four of their last five appearances.
The visitors' games haven't been short of goals in recent weeks, with five of their last seven fixtures in the league featuring over 2.5 goals, including three of their previous four away days. Similarly, Accrington have seen at least three goals scored in three of their latest four home games in the fourth tier.
Despite two recent losses to leaders Walsall, Notts County are building momentum in the promotion race, which could lead to another high-scoring contest on Saturday.
Walsall vs Milton Keynes Dons @ 8/11
Speaking of the Saddlers, they are at the Poundland Bescot Stadium once again after their 5-1 thumping of Tranmere Rovers last weekend. Walsall are flying this season and they are comfortably 12 points clear at the top of the table, with a game in hand on some of their closest rivals.
They host a promotion rival in Milton Keynes Dons on Saturday, who have had their momentum dented in the past month with just one win in six appearances. The visitors had won six consecutive matches before that, all of which featured over 2.5 goals.
In their latest run, only two from six have produced three or more goals. However, MK Dons are still experiencing a trend for this market on their travels, as each of their last five outings away from home in the league has seen over 2.5 goals strike.
With the Dons facing the league leaders, who have scored 48 goals so far this term, you'd fancy that streak to extend to six matches.
