Over 2.5 Goals Tips: Premier League bottom two offer value
We’ve got a whole host of football action coming our way on Saturday afternoon, which means once again I can bring you our Over 2.5 Goals Tips, as we search for another winner.
I’ve picked out four selections from the Premier League and Championship this week, that you can back as singles, or a fourfold accumulator.
Over 2.5 goals tips - Saturday, April 12
- Brighton vs Leicester - Over 2.5 goals @ 8/13
- Southampton vs Aston Villa - Over 2.5 goals @ 8/13
- Leeds vs Preston - Over 2.5 goals @ 4/6
- QPR vs Bristol City - Over 2.5 goals @ 6/5
Fourfold pays 17/2
Brighton vs Leicester - Over 2.5 goals @ 8/13
Let’s start in the Premier League where Leicester’s short stay is coming to an embarrassing end. Ruud van Nistelrooy simply hasn’t improved them and they are struggling to score goals, having lost eight matches in a row without finding the net. Their last Premier League goal home or away came on January 26 and they have completely flopped in 2025.
So with such a pathetic attack for one of these sides, you could be forgiven for staying away from the over 2.5 goals market. But Leicester are so bad right now that I’m more than happy to back Brighton to score three or more goals against a Foxes side desperate to be put out of their misery.
Brighton sit joint-top of the charts for over 2.5 goals in the Premier League this term with 21 of their 31 fixtures - or 71 per cent - ending with three goals or more. Each of their last eight in the Premier League have landed in this market, while there is always an outside chance that Leicester find some attacking cohesion before relegation is confirmed.

Southampton vs Aston Villa - Over 2.5 goals @ 8/13
Two teams that have had very different weeks meet in the South Coast sunshine on Saturday as already-relegated Southampton welcome Champions League quarter-finalists Aston Villa to St Marys. As Villa were going toe-to-toe with PSG in the French capital, Saints began their hunt for a new manager having waved goodbye to Ivan Juric following their demotion.
Simon Rusk and Adam Lallana will take charge of this game and I think we could see a more adventurous and positive Southampton performance as a result. Despite being one of the worst Premier League teams we have ever seen, there have been goals at both ends in the last four Southampton matches, while 21 of Villa’s 31 league fixtures have ended with BTTS coming in.
I think this will be an open and entertaining encounter, as Saints can play with freedom. Villa may have half an eye on the Champions League second leg, but they can still produce plenty of goals.

Leeds vs Preston - Over 2.5 goals @ 4/6
Leeds aren’t falling apart anymore. They battered Middlesbrough in midweek and although the 1-0 scoreline suggests a tight game, they had two perfectly good goals wrongly disallowed for offside. They’ve the best attack in the Championship having scored a whopping 80 goals this seaon and at home they are averaging almost 2.5 goals per game, with 49 goals in 20 at Elland Road.
I’ve no doubt that they will be able to get the better of Preston, who enjoyed a high-scoring 2-2 draw with Cardiff last time out. They carry threats of their own, but really this is all about backing Leeds to put them to the sword.

QPR vs Bristol City - Over 2.5 goals @ 6/5
A big price for our final selection but one I’m happy to get behind. QPR thumped Oxford 3-1 away from home last time out and although there have been doubts about their attacking quality due to the number of injuries they have, they clicked at the Kassam.
Four of their last five outings have now seen over 2.5 goals, which when you combine with Bristol City winning three of their last four games by a 2-1 scoreline, makes this price seem very generous indeed. I’m happy to back the strikers to make the net bulge at Loftus Road.
