The Europa Conference League Final takes place on Wednesday night (20:00, TNT Sports 1) and whilst there is no UK representative this year, it should still be an interesting match-up.

Our Italian Football expert Daniele Fisichella has put together an 11/4 priced three-leg #PickYourPunt as he takes you through his Olympiacos vs Fiorentina Bet Builder Tips...

Olympiacos vs Fiorentina Bet Builder Tips

What an historic occasion for the Athens’ club and Greece as a whole as the hosts could win the nation’s first ever clubs’ continental trophy.

Fiorentina are slightly favoured in the final result market and they’re hoping to get revenge after last season's heartache in the final. Can Serie A add another continental trophy after Atalanta’s victory over Leverkusen?

Both Teams To Score

The Italians have maintained the expectations and qualified, for the second season in a row, to the Conference League final.

Since September, La Viola have been considered among the favourites to lift the trophy and come to the final act of this competition on the back of 13 positive results, which represents their best ever streak in Europe.

Fiorentina have only lost one Conference League game this season (the very first one, 1-0 against Rapid Wien) and are the top scorers with 27 goals, having drawn a blank only in the Austrian capital and away against Viktoria Plzeň. Fiorentina, who have the best attacking numbers of the Conference League (they’re top for both attempts, 251, and shots on target, 68), certainly won’t go against their principle because of fear of losing another final. Lately the visitors have scored with more ease, 22 goals in the last 10 games in all competitions, and have plenty of ammunition to hurt Olympiacos.

On the other hand, La Viola have kept no clean sheets in the last eight games in all competitions, and their aggressive and high-intensity style of play often leave them exposed.

But both teams can get goals from different sources, in fact each of them has found the net with 12 different players in Europe this season, including a couple of defenders like Luca Ranieri (three goals) or Rodinei and Restos.

Double Chance: Fiorentina or Draw

Last season’s experience, when Fiorentina were defeated in the final by Jarrod Bowen’s last minute goal, will certainly be very important.

However, Fiorentina, mindful of that defeat in Prague, might, perhaps, choose a more cautious approach, especially if the match is still tied in the last minutes of regular time.

Olympiacos will have plenty of enthusiastic supporters on their side as they can write their name in history.

The club from the Piraeus have been the biggest revelation of this European campaign.

After a poor start of the season, which culminated with the elimination from the Europa League and defeats to PAOK, Lamia and AEK, the club brought in the experienced José Luis Mendilibar.

The 63-year-old Basque, who led Sevilla to the Europa League’s victory last season, steadied the ship and quickly got the best out of a talented group of players.

Under their third manager of the campaign, Olympiacos won the first six games before losing 4-1, at home, against Maccabi Tel-Aviv. What looked like the end of their European dream turned out to be the prologue for a historic comeback.

In fact, not only Olympiacos won the return leg by 6-1 after extra-time, but since April they knocked out Fenerbahce (on penalties) and, most remarkably, Aston Villa, who were the overwhelming favourites for the final victory. After having won 22 of the past 26 Greek titles, this season’s poor results, especially at the beginning, meant that the Thrylos have now failed to conquer their league for two consecutive seasons.

However, a success in Europe and on home soil (albeit at AEK’s stadium), will more than compensate for the recent domestic struggles.

Fiorentina have won just eight away games this season, and just two, against Salernitana and Cagliari, since mid-March, therefore betting on them to win at 90 minutes might be risky.

Each Team To Get Over 2.5 Corners

The presence of quick and skilful wingers makes these two formations very likely to develop their attacking plays near the byline and put crosses into the box.

In fact, Fiorentina are top in the Conference League for corners taken (87, on average 7.25 per game) and have averaged over five corners per 90 minutes in Serie A this season.

Also, the Greeks have taken many corners in Europe: 36 in the Conference League (4.5 per game) and 26 (average 4.3 each match) in their six Europa League encounters.

There should be plenty of goals and scoring chances for both sides. In fact, Olympiacos have lost only two of their last 12 games in all competitions and are the seventh-best scorers (18 goals) in the Conference League, despite having played four games less than La Viola.

But this season Mendilibar’s man have only kept four clean sheets in their 18 European games and seven of their last 11 games, in all competitions, have ended with both teams on the scoresheet.

In the semi-final the hosts were excellent at exploiting Aston Villa’s high line and have three players such as Ayoub El Kaabi, the competition’s top goalscorer (10 goals), as well as Daniel Podence (15 goals and 10 assists) and Kostas Fourtunis (28 goals contributions), in very good form.
