Nottingham Forest take on Newcastle United at the City Ground in the Premier League on Saturday evening (17:30), looking to pick up their first win in three matches.

Newcastle are unbeaten in their last two in the league and played out a thrilling 4-4 draw with Luton Town last weekend on home soil, which followed a 3-1 win at Aston Villa.

Three points for them could get them back in the picture for a top-six finish, while a victory for Forest would help them gain some breathing room with the relegation zone, of which they currently sit two points above.

Eddie Howe's side were beaten by the Tricky Trees, however, when they met on Boxing Day, with former Magpies striker Chris Wood netting a hat-trick. But Nuno Espirito's men have won just one game since then in the league.

We have constructed a 4/1 bet builder for you take a look at ahead of this contest.

Newcastle to win

Forest stunned Newcastle at St James' Park not so long ago which sparked hope among the Tricky Trees faithful in that Nuno could steer them to safety.

However, he has only won just one other game in the Premier League and they will be facing a Newcastle side that have been rediscovering their mojo in recent weeks.

They did well to recover after going behind against Luton last time out and before that they ended Aston Villa's 346-day run without a defeat at Villa Park.

Newcastle have some injury concerns heading into this one with key attacking stars Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon set for a spell on the sidelines, but they have been boosted by the return of Harvey Barnes, who netted last week after making his first appearance since September.

He will be key in light of the absence of Newcastle's injured attackers, but along with the other healthy players, they should have the quality to pick up the three points in Nottingham.

Over 2.5 goals

Forest haven't been shy of scoring goals since Nuno arrived at the club. In fact, they have only failed to score in their FA Cup fourth-round draw with Bristol City. Newcastle have shown that they are still vulnerable at the back after they conceded four at home to Luton.

The Tricky Trees are at home as well so the onus will be on them to apply the pressure early. The recent return of Taiwo Awoniyi in attack has given them a much-needed lift in the final third, and he has shown over the past 18 months that he is a tough striker to deal with for defenders.

It remains to be seen just how hampered Newcastle's attack will be this weekend but there are players within the squad who can help with the goal burden, such as Sean Longstaff, Miguel Almiron and Bruno Guimaraes.

With this selection landing in the reverse fixture back in December, we are confident that it can deliver at the City Ground this weekend.

Harvey Barnes to score anytime

After scoring on his return to action last weekend, and the likelihood that he will be thrown into the starting XI on Saturday, we like the look of Barnes finding the back of the net for a second successive match.

His first season on Tyneside has been hampered by injury, but he now has the chance to build momentum on the pitch as he looks to get back to the form he was in before he got injured, as well as cementing his place in the Magpies' lineup.

With Isak and Gordon likely to be out, the attacking burden will rest on his shoulders. It will be difficult given that two of Newcastle's star players won't be playing alongside him, but he has the quality to make things happen on his own.

As Leicester were relegated last year, Barnes ended the campaign with 13 goals in the league, so goals are not difficult to come by for the winger.
