Norwich City welcome Sunderland to Carrow Road on Saturday afternoon (15:00) in the Championship, looking to keep up their play-off push. The Canaries have lost just one match in the second tier since the new year and have won three of their last five encounters.

They are three points outside the play-off places, while Sunderland are eight off the pace and have lost three games on the spin. We offer up our betting tips for this weekend clash in East Anglia.

Norwich vs Sunderland Betting Tips

  • Norwich and both teams to score Yes @ 11/4
  • Over 2.5 Norwich goals @ 3/1

Match Odds

Norwich are EVS to come away with the three points in this one. Sunderland are 11/4 to collect their first win in four matches, while the draw can be backed at 5/2.

Both teams to score is valued at 4/6 and over 2.5 goals is 4/5.

Team News

Norwich were given a blow this week as winger Onel Hernandez has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a broken foot. The Canaries are also without top scorer Jon Rowe, who isn't expected back until April at the earliest, so manager David Wagner will have his work cut out for him in the coming weeks. Marcelino Nunez and Grant Hanley are both doubts for the weekend after hobbling off against Blackburn Rovers last time out.

As for Sunderland, their season appears to be getting worse as top scorer and key player Jack Clarke is set for another six weeks on the sidelines. Niall Huggins remains out for the rest of the season, while Patrick Roberts continues to recover from a hamstring problem.

Norwich and both teams to score Yes @ 11/4

The Canaries may be missing two influential players in Hernandez and Rowe, but they still have enough quality within their ranks to continue their impressive form. One defeat this calendar year in the Championship speaks for itself, and on home soil, they will back themselves to claim another victory.

Sunderland head to Carrow Road dejected. Not just because they have lost three in a row, but also because they've lost their most important player in Clarke for a large portion of what remains of the campaign. Defeat looks likely for them in East Anglia but we do fancy them to get on the scoresheet.

Although they have been impressive in recent months, Norwich have only managed one clean sheet since the beginning of January. The Black Cats can exploit that detail, even if we don't think it will mean much in the grand scheme of things.

Norwich and both teams to score at 11/4

Over 2.5 Norwich goals @ 3/1

Norwich's leading marksman, Rowe (13 goals in all competitions), may be unavailable, but Wagner has plenty of talented individuals to call upon in his absence. American Josh Sargent has netted 10 for himself over the course of the season and he will offer their biggest goal threat until Rowe returns.

Then there are the likes of Gabriel Sara, Christian Fassnacht, Ashley Barnes and Borja Sainz who have all scored at least five this term.

When you also take into account the fact that there have been seven games this term in which Norwich have conjured up at least three goals themselves, against a downbeat Sunderland side, this looks like a shrewd selection.

Over 2.5 Norwich goals at 3/1
