Norwich City are three points clear of their rivals in a congested race for the top six in the Championship but with a number of teams breathing down their neck, they can take nothing for granted when hosting Plymouth Argyle on Friday (15:00).

Argyle are themselves in a close battle at the other end of the table, as they currently sit just two points clear of the relegation zone after a significant recent dip in their performances. Here are our Norwich vs Plymouth predictions, including team news and match odds.

Norwich vs Plymouth Betting Tips

  • Over 3.5 goals @ 6/4
  • Josh Sargent to score at anytime @ 23/20

Team News

Plymouth’s treatment room is looking surprisingly empty for this part of the season but they do have two key players, Bali Mumba and Mickel Miller, both suspended.

For Norwich, Shane Duffy and Jacob Sorensen should have recovered from their recent injury issues to at least make the matchday squad, but this game will come too soon for the injured trio of Jon Rowe, Onel Hernandez and Dimitris Giannoulis.

Match Odds

Norwich can be backed at 1/2 for the victory, while Plymouth are 11/2 outsiders and the draw is available at 7/2.

Over 2.5 goals is on offer at 4/7, while both teams to score is priced at 8/11 and it is 5/4 for over 1.5 goals in the first half.

Over 3.5 goals @ 6/4

Both Plymouth and Norwich have been suffering much the same issues this season, albeit at different ends of the table.

Argyle are the top scorers in the bottom half but only Blackburn and Rotherham have conceded more than their 62.

Likewise Norwich are the top scorers outside of the runaway top four in the Championship but also have the joint-worst defensive record in the top half, conceding 54 times in 38 matches.

As a result, 16 of Norwich's 38 Championship matches have produced over 3.5 goals and they come into this game in particularly free-flowing form, having netted eight times in their last two outings.

Plymouth should be able to play their part in an entertaining game as the visitors have scored in eight of their last nine away games in all competitions, while both teams have found the net in 22 of their 38 Championship matches.

Over 3.5 goals at 6/4

Josh Sargent to score at any time @ 23/20

Norwich forward Josh Sargent has been in fine goalscoring form this season and could add to his tally of 13 league strikes in this contest. The American has only played in 18 games and he has the best goals per 90 minutes ratio of any player to net at least three times in the Championship.

Josh Sargent to score anytime at 23/20
