Norwich City maintained their run of 14 years without defeat against Ipswich Town with a 2-2 draw at Portman Road last time out, and they will look to back that up with a victory at home against Huddersfield.

We’ve previewed this match-up and taken a look at the betting market to come up with a couple of selections.

Norwich vs Huddersfield Tips:

  • Norwich City to win @ 8/13
  • Jon Rowe to score first @ 7/1

Team News

Norwich City are still without Ben Gibson, Josh Sargent and Ui-Jo Hwang for this one, while Kenny McLean looks set to continue in the centre-back role he has occupied over the past month. That has allowed David Wagner’s side to maintain more control in matches by keeping the ball, and the midfielder has impressed after his switch in positions.

Meanwhile, Huddersfield Town have a boatload of injury issues. Goalkeeper Lee Nicholls hobbled off last time out and Chris Maxwell is expected to start this weekend, while Ben Jackson, Oliver Turton and Josh Ruffels all remain out. On the positive side, Jack Rudoni returned to action against Millwall and should be fit to play a part in East Anglia.

Match Odds

Norwich City are priced at 8/13 to win this game, with Huddersfield the outsiders at 4/1. A draw can be backed at 3/1, over 2.5 goals is 8/11 and BTTS is 4/5

Norwich City to win @ 8/13

This should be relatively straightforward for the home side. They achieved a point against the odds at Ipswich and have hit a purple patch recently on home soil. They have lost just once in their last seven matches, moved into the top ten and beat Sheffield Wednesday 3-1 in their last Carrow Road appearance.

Against Huddersfield, they should be able to get another win on the board. The Terriers have been far more competitive in recent weeks, losing one of their last six matches, but they needed a 97th minute penalty to rescue a draw at Millwall last weekend. There’s still been some concern over their performances and with Norwich’s quality in attacking areas, I believe the Terriers will come up short.

Jon Rowe to score first @ 7/1

The man of the moment. When Norwich needed a spark against their local rivals, Jon Rowe stepped up to the plate with a magnificent brace. He is the stardust in this Norwich side and he is the most reliable man in front of goal. His goals slightly cooled off after a lightning start, but he has still hit 11 this term - four more than his closest teammate.

Given Norwich should dominate this game, the 7/1 on offer for Jon Rowe to score first seems like a huge price. He’s a special talent, and that price is well worth backing in this encounter.
