Newcastle vs Tottenham Prediction: Isak to unsettle Spurs again at St James’ Park

If you want to watch an entertaining football match, you'd do a lot worse than to tuck into a Premier League contest between Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur, which very rarely disappoints. In fact, there have been 16 goals scored across the last three head-to-heads, with the Magpies winning both games at St James' Park - 6-1 in April 2023 and 4-0 a year later.
The sides meet again in the North East on Sunday (13:30, Sky Sports Main Event), and you can build up to the action by checking out my Newcastle vs Tottenham prediction below.

Team News
Newcastle are still missing back-up goalkeeper Martin Dubravka and defenders Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles through injury, with midfielder Lewis Miley and striker Callum Wilson also sidelined with medical issues of their own.
Joe Willock is a doubt after being substituted just 15 minutes into Wednesday's Carabao Cup tie at Nottingham Forest, where he scored the opening goal inside the first minute of their 1-1 draw, before the Magpies progressed to the third round after a penalty shoot-out.
Fabian Schar, meanwhile, is to serve the final game of his three-match ban picked up on the opening weekend victory over Southampton (1-0).
Uruguayan midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur and summer signing Dominic Solanke started Tottenham's first game of the season, a 1-1 draw at Leicester City, but the duo missed the 4-0 victory over Everton last weekend and look set to watch on again on Sunday.
Wilson Odobert made his debut from the start in that game and will hope to keep his spot ahead of Timo Werner and Richarlison on Tyneside.

Newcastle are 6/4 to make it back-to-back wins at home, giving them an implied probability of 40%, while Tottenham are 7/5, or a 41.7% chance, to triumph at St James' for the first time since October 2021.
The draw is available at 11/4, both teams to score at 1/3, and over 3.5 total goals at 5/6.
Newcastle striker Alexander Isak (21/20) is the favourite to score anytime, with Spurs captain Son Heung-min lowest priced for the visitors.
First Scorer - Alexander Isak @ 4/1
Isak is yet to get off the mark this season, blanking in the win against Southampton and the 1-1 draw at Bournemouth last weekend before being denied in the midweek Carabao Cup success at the City Ground. However, it was his early effort that was parried into the path of Willock, who stroked the ball into an empty net to open the scoring for the Magpies.
The Sweden international should be buoyed by the visit of Spurs to St James' Park given his impressive record against them there. Isak bagged a first-half brace in April 2023 as Newcastle ran riot at home, taking a 5-0 lead into the interval and eventually walking away 6-1 victors.
Newcastle and Isak were at it again earlier this year as the 24-year-old's double helped the Toon to a 4-0 win on Tyneside.
Backing the centre-forward to net twice again is tempting, but instead, I'm going to suggest he repeats another April feat - netting the first goal of the game on Sunday. That's priced up at 4/1 and looks tempting given the fast starts the Magpies have made against Spurs recently; it took Jacob Murphy under two minutes to open the floodgates in the 6-1 victory last year.
Player to Receive a Card - Cristian Romero @ 9/5
It's all been quiet on the card front for Cristian Romero this season, which can only mean one thing - there's one waiting around the corner for him soon.
The Argentina international is something of a card merchant, picking up eight, 11 and seven Premier League yellows respectively in his first three seasons at Spurs, while he also saw red in his second and third terms.
Romero has been particularly feisty in fixtures against Newcastle, receiving a yellow card in his last three appearances versus the Magpies.
The likes of Isak and Anthony Gordon are sure to give Romero and co a tough time on Sunday, and he may work himself into the referee's notebook for a fourth-straight time against the Toon this weekend.
