Newcastle United vs Arsenal Prediction: Gunners to get title charge back on track

After both sides enjoyed midweek victories, Newcastle United welcome Arsenal to St James' Park on Saturday for the 12:30 kick-off in the Premier League (live on TNT Sports 1).
The Magpies got the better of Chelsea on Wednesday night to book their place in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup, while Mikel Arteta's side enjoyed a routine victory over Preston North End. Read on for my Newcastle United vs Arsenal prediction, as well as the latest team news and match odds.

Team News
Anthony Gordon played 73 minutes of the win over Chelsea, despite fears over a groin problem, so he should be fit enough to feature on Saturday.
Eddie Howe confirmed that Jacob Murphy is absent due to a hamstring issue, and Alexander Isak's withdrawal against the Blues was precautionary. However, Jamaal Lascelles (knee), Sven Botman (knee), Kieran Trippier (thigh) and Callum Wilson (back) remain out of contention.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are still waiting to learn the extent of Gabriel Magalhaes' knee injury ahead of the trip to St James' Park.
The Gunners will be able to call upon the services of William Saliba, after the Frenchman served a one-game suspension following his red card against Bournemouth.
Martin Odegaard (ankle), Riccardo Calafiori (knee), Kieran Tierney (hamstring) and Takehiro Tomiyasu (knee) will all miss out here, while Ben White could return to the Arsenal backline.

Arsenal are 19/20 favourites to claim the three points, giving them an implied win probability of 51.3%, while the hosts are 11/4 to win, and it's the same price for the draw.
Bukayo Saka leads the anytime goalscorer market at 2/1, after his brilliant goal against Liverpool last weekend, followed by Kai Havertz at 21/10. Isak is the shortest-priced for the hosts, also at 21/10.
Arsenal to win and both teams to score - yes @ 13/5
Arteta will be disappointed that his side failed to beat Liverpool last weekend in what was billed as a must-win game for the Gunners, but they look good value to leave St James' Park with all three points on Saturday.
Arsenal have lost only one league game so far this term, which came when Saliba was shown a first-half red card at Bournemouth a fortnight ago, and Arteta’s men have already beaten north London rivals Tottenham in the top-flight, as well as avoiding defeat against Liverpool and Manchester City.
Newcastle, meanwhile, will be on a high after their win over Chelsea in midweek, btu they're on a five-game winless streak in the Premier League.
Howe's side have triumphed in two of their last three league meetings with Arsenal at St James’ Park, one of which was a 1-0 success last season. However, it is worth noting that Arsenal romped to a 4-1 victory in last season’s reverse fixture.
The Gunners have failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their last four league outings, so I think Newcastle can get on the scoresheet here, especially given the injuries Arsenal have at the back.

Bruno Guimaraes to be carded @ 15/8
Bruno Guimaraes is usually not far from the action - whether that's attacking or defending - and looks well-priced to pick up a booking on Saturday.
The Brazilian midfielder is averaging 1.4 fouls per game in the Premier League this season, a figure that rises to 2.5 when Newcastle play in front of their own fans.
In fact, Guimaraes has been guilty of two or more offences in each of the Magpies’ four top-flight home games this term to date, and the 26-year-old has already found his way into the referee's notebook on three occasions this season in 12 games across all competitions.
Guimaraes was also booked in the same fixture last season.
