An important Premier League clash takes place on Saturday, 4th November, at St James' Park.

Newcastle United host Arsenal in a 17.30 kick-off between two top-six clubs striving for honours.

It should be an absolute stormer, and we're putting together a little bet building, #PickYourPunt special.

Strictly, and any early fireworks, will just have to wait. It could be seismic on Tyneside on Saturday night.

Match odds - the main markets, ahead of kick-off;

Yes - Both Teams To Score

These two have scored a mere 49 goals between them so far this term, so for me it's not too fanciful to imagine a few more rippling the back of the net by early Saturday evening.

Considering the attacking threat posed by both sides this potency in front of goal is an almost inevitable by-product. And while both have stood up pretty effectively to the challenge of ball-dominating Manchester City this season, they are far better-known for their front foot, aggressive style - looking to dominate, rather than be dominated.

Let's take a little stroll down the list of players prominent in the first/anytime scoring betting, in no particular order; Wilson, Saka, Nketiah, Gordon, Martinelli, Trossard, Odegaard, Almiron; all are in beautiful goalscoring 'nick' as we speak, and will be itching to add to their respective tallies at the weekend.

Woodwork to be Hit

I refer my honourable friends and readers to the answer I gave earlier (above); in that an anticipated frenzy around both respective penalty areas can lead not only to goals, but to near-misses - and that brings the woodwork into the equation. Can we envisage that during the pressure moments in such a huge match, that someone is going to rattle the crossbar, or nick one against the post? You bet.

Newcastle to Win

This fixture has produced some gripping contests in the past. Newcastle's reinvention as an elite, challenging club continues apace, and they arrive here fresh from that emphatic win at troubled Man Utd in the Carabao Cup. Their League progress has not been without hiccups, but they remain a formidable outfit.

Arsenal lie second, equal points with City and a couple shy of neighbours Spurs. The Geordies meanwhile are seven points adrift of the Gunners. Huge match then - that gap could become significantly bigger, or narrow to far more manageable proportions.

Roared on by the Toon army faithful, Newcastle can for me put Arsenal to the sword. Arteta's men have recently had Champions League joy at Sevilla, thrashed Sheffield United, been held by Chelsea, and knocked out of the Carabao by West Ham. A little bit up and down, arguably, and though certainly the same could be said for Newcastle (a CL reverse at home, and only a point at Molineux), they'll be massively energised for this, and buoyed by that Old Trafford result the other night.
