The MLS continues this weekend and we turn our attention to the Eastern Conference where New England Revolution host Chicago Fire. It’s been a shocking start to the season for Caleb Porter’s side and they’ve lost all four league matches they have played this season.

Now they will look to get their season up and running with this game, and below you can find our New England Revolution vs Chicago Fire prediction.

New England Revolution vs Chicago Fire Tips

  • Over 3.5 goals @ 13/8
  • Chicago Fire win and BTTS @ 9/2

Team News

Former Aston Villa midfielder Carles Gil is likely to start again for the home side, having recently signed a contract extension until 2027. Giacomo Vrioni is likely to continue in the number nine role having found the net against Cincinnati last time out, but Porter may look to make changes after a slow start to the season.

For Chicago, Xherdan Shaqiri is expected to continue in the number ten role having helped his side scored four goals last time out. We are unlikely to see much change in that line-up, with Hugo Cuypers continuing in the number nine role after his goal last weekend.

Match Odds

New England Revolution are 9/10 to win this game, with Chicago Fire priced at 12/5. A draw is 5/2, BTTS is 4/7 and over 2.5 goals is 8/13.

Over 3.5 goals @ 13/8

The MLS has been stacked with goals as of late. These two sides in particular enjoyed thrillers in their last matches as Chicago ran out 4-3 winners over Montreal, and New England lost 2-1 to Cincinnati.

Both teams have scored in the last Chicago games, while the same is true for New England’s last three outings. I’m expecting an open encounter, with plenty of goals.

Chicago Fire win and BTTS @ 9/2

We’ve just explained our reasoning for the goals part of this selection, but I’m fairly confident in backing an away win here. New England have only won one of their last five home games against Chicago Fire, and they are yet to pick up a point in the league so far this season.

Four defeats from four, and just three goals scored in that time make for painful reading, while Chicago scored four in their last 90 minutes. This is a decent price for what should be a likely outcome.
